Why I don't agree with "Instances" as a fix.

We all know that instanced housing won't hurt RP because Wildstar had a thriving RP community (at least for a while) with instanced housing and everyone was big on it.

Also, all the wards are dead. I'd appreciate the neighborhood feel more if I actually saw someone other than the guy who owns the house across from me every few weeks.

i made a thread about how we can make a mix of instanced but still share the ward with people... we fix the problem of people not having houses AND wards will be buzzing with life since the wards are like a shared hub where all the people meet after leaving their instanced house.. so wont affect your RP experience.

I can tell you right now that I very rarely see anyone outside in my ward and when visiting others, it is much the same.

Once again I believe this is due to there being no incentive to hang out around the wards. With creating an instanced environment and canning the ward system you would be driving players away from each other even more.

We NEED reasons to spend time in the wards, we NEED exclusive features that are fun for everyone and brings everyone together. I think SE wanted a place like that but only did half of the job.

Maybe SE should try and force neighborhood activity just like they force people to do low level FATES for relics.

If you don't post at least 1,000 characters in say, yell, or shout chat in your ward every 45 days, you lose your property. Please upboat this post so devs can see it and it gets implemented next patch. Thanks!!!

Sure if SE did the same thing Wildstar did it wouldn't HURT the RP community, but then again could it ever be better than WS?

If SE could figure out how to get this system to work better and encourage more communication everyone in the Wildstar community would be jealous how awesome FFXIV was.

The ward system is a great idea that hasn't been fully implemented properly, hence why it's not that great. Given the choice between Instances and a "Fully functioning ward system" a majority of RPs would pick the ward system.

What is a fully functioning ward system? Given that they keep repeating essentially the same system with some visual changes, it seems this is as full a system as Square is willing to put out or the best their systems with their code can handle.

The reason we can't have a great housing system is because we as a community expect to have it all. Do you realize the shitstorm that would occur if they held off on other projects to fix this housing issue?

They are trying to run a business so I understand why it would be hard for them to solve the issue without losing a ton of revenue

Considering how dead Wildstar is on the whole, they're probably jealous of FFXIV already for having people that actually play.

Honestly, no, and I don't think you speak for a majority of anyone, especially not RPers - so maybe don't use that community to try and bolster your argument. My RP FC's first house was located in a neighborhood full of trolls that liked to spam spells and training dummy as soon as they saw us outside RPing, would burst uninvited into our house at all hours, and surrounded us with chocobo houses. We ended up moving as soon as possible. Our current ward was filled with people that never used their houses and had the bare minimum of an aetheryte. They all scattered and now we're surrounded by empty lots. May as well be instanced.

I would be just as happy if folks could teleport into our own customized little bubble.
