    Selectable rewards

One of my biggest beefs about Guildleves is the rewards. Often am I stuck with item rewards I don't care about or can't use, and worse when I finally see a leve that offers marks, it's not for a guild I'm interested in, and may have only leveled a class for a few abilities. And the worst place for the offense is in crafting.

First off, one of the things I'd like is when I'm selecting a guild leve to do , I want to see a whole load out of every leve available for an area. The 3 randomly selected ones with random rewards just does not cut it. There's enough limiting factors on leves as it is.

Having a higher load out would probably cause people to drift towards only doing the same 3 constantly, right? Well, for starters, some leves are much better for xp purposes, like Necrologos leves. Other leves, like Pursuit leves (which I know many people hate though they never bothered me) could have a higher gil pay off.

I'd even suggest a system that instead of gil, marks, and items, you get leve points which can be cashed in for your reward of choice. You can cash them in for gil, marks of your choice, or a selection of items. Feel free to develop my proposals, but I just think players should have more control over what they get. There's nothing worse that getting a Poacher leve you and your 3 friends can't even complete on 1 star at rank 28, and it has a really crappy reward.

At the very least, I'd like to see Marks be changed from a specific type to just *Marks, and it gives you marks based on whatever class you used during the leve. If you swapped classes, it divides the marks up based on how much you used a class during that leve.

Same for Crafting leves. Never know what I'll get until I complete the leve. I'd like some way to control what I get. It can take forever to get those essential key items. Sure I should have to work to get them throughout my entire time actually doing the craft, but those key items can take a while to get.

What does everyone else think? Do you prefer the random rewards? Would you want more selection? Maybe something like Leve Points that you can cash in for Marks of choice, gil, or items, or other benefits like restoring some Favor or Anima upon cash in?

hmm, honestly, I'm generally opposed to making yet another step in the direction of
"it's only fun when you're winning, so let's make the game easier."

I think it's fine the way it is. It doesn't take long to stack gil, gear, or any marks. You'll see.

i got through the first paragraph, but found myself losing interest after that. Don't like the rewards you're getting? don't take that leve, if it's an item useless to you, sell it.

It's a social game, not always about the person playing, but about the people they interact with.

Oh, I'm perfectly fine if I'm not always getting what I want. It's just I think it could be handled better in trying to at least build to something better. I'm against things being far to easy, but I think the current system in place needs another look.

That also relates to one of my core complaints though: Sometimes, all my leves have reward loadouts I don't want. Haven't we all run into a night where all the mark rewards were for classes we didn't want to use that night? Item wise, I honestly don't care after level 1 leves. Most of the rewards aren't worth writing home about. What I'm suggesting is have something maybe where you can build to something better over time.

Besides that, keep in mind... "It's only fun when you're winning" isn't something that should apply to rewards. I've already won. Why should I lose out on my reward? I'm not saying I should get 100k in gil for every leve. Just that I'd like to see the option to pick between what I want after I've actually won.

I've got plenty of gil myself (800k in gil, plus another million or so in assets) . And Marks. And I've got more items that I need. My issue is I'd just rather have the option instead of arbitrary randomness. One of the biggest complaints in reviews of the game lied in the huge degree of randomness. If I only have 30 minutes to play one night, I want the reward to count.

I'm not suggesting hand every item to me on a silver platter. In fact, since Alpha, I've found gil to be too easy to get, which drove even vendor prices up to insane levels (In Alpha, I had nearly 200k by the end) I'd like to see current reward levels reduced to accommodate for changes like making things more selectable. I think what I'm really getting at is make some sort of thing like Assault points for the XI fans.

Yoshi's patch notes actually say they will be implementing reward choices for all quest types in a future patch.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

Oh, I hadn't seen that. Either way though. Never hurts to have some sort of discussion on how it could best be done.

the only real issue i have with the leve rewards are the local marks. i got up to 4100 marks for arm and went for 3 weeks of resets only doing arm leves in the 3 cities doing all 8 leves for r15 and higher arm before i was lucky and got a set of marks off a r30 that finally gave me the rewards. i have actually seen people in game saying they want the rewards posted like in the battleclasses, but that would have everyone with all books by r20. i just wish they upped the percentage of getting marks some so you do not go through 18-20 resets in a row without a single set of marks then go 6-8 the next few. to me between the 3 cities at least one of the leves in a given class would have a set of marks on each reset. it would be a question of if you get lucky and get that leve then.

What I dislike is that one day I can get glad marks from 3 different leves and other times I can go 2 weeks of resets without getting any. There is also an equity issue here, a friend of mine does exaclty as many leves as I do and has 3 books, I have 0. I understand the concept of random number generators (RNG) and such but for things like crafting marks, it limites my ability to level up the class. He gets to try new recipees before i do, level his profession faster and in the end has the potetial to make gil faster then me to. This seems like a large aspect of the game to leave to a RNG. IT was so infuriating that when my armouer was 29 at the end of October, (yes I had no life and crafted till exhaustion for weeks in a row) I just gave up all together because the system was unequitable and frustrating. Now people who stuck it out are doing well and are being rewarded for sticking to an unequaable/unbalanced game and I am bitter but it does not take away from the problem.

Anyone who joins the game now o latter will likly have similar proplems to the balance of the game, If this game ever gets going again with decient changes, I wouldn't mind state 0 servers where people just starting the game can actually enjoy a flourishing economy oppssed to one that was established by a few who stuck out the insanity of this game during release. If you want to be rewarded for beng a brave (if not insane) soldier thats fine, but I think the rest of us who left, and are waiting for the game to be good again should have the option to join fresh servers. (don't get me wrong I want my charater deleted as well) This can also be said for the PS3 players, and I am sure his will get discussed again latter.

Well... A character wipe isn't going to happen. However, I do feel the way you do about the economy. It was terribly unbalanced from the start. I mean, level 20 gear for 200k does seem ridiculous. But around the time that PS3 servers come out, I think things will get shuffled around a bit.

If you're just saying you'd like a chance to start fresh on a fresh server that has a raw economy though, that's a bit more understandable though. The Trabia economy has started to get pretty stable with lots of trade going on in Ul'Dah though. But you do bring up a lot of good points as to why selectable rewards were needed from the beginning...

Yea I acknowledge I might be dreaming on this one but I was encourage to see the question on the poll implying that it was an option and it was being seriously considered. We will see what happens though.
