That being said this isn't that big of a deal, the op will probably get their answer soon and then the thread will probably get washed off the first page anyway :P
On topic however, I never even noticed it said anything at all beyond his name. I've been there once and didnt pay that much attention. It's quite possible that it doesn't actually say anything underneath and they merely put scribble to make it resemble words. Or it could be written in another eorzean language.

Or its so badly textured like some other things in this game that no one will ever truly be able to make out what it says.

Edit: I've tried to find screenshots and it seems the closer the camera gets to it, the harder it is to read -_- seems like a textural issue beyond anything else.

I think it might be that the text is too fuzzy to read, but from a distance it just looks like it's fuzzy because you're standing too far away to read it.

Seems disappointing from a design level, unless they really *couldn't* make it display at any better resolution than that. A better readable version for the closeup in the cutscene would have been a good idea.
