You have to remember these primal fights have to last till the next patch update. Making a lower drop rate but putting it in the loot pool would make it fair and last long without someone pulling their hair out that they got the same weapon five times. Have to make content last for now till 2.0.

Eh it's no different than PvP grinding in every other MMO when you blow through their content in quick succession.

Not necessarily. It depends on how you look at it. If you made a drop rate system where if something does drop, it would go to the person who needs it. If you have a fight that you can get a weapon everytime you beat him, you would have to put restrictions in. Would have to make it so you fight the Moogle less often and make the pre-req's a lot harder than just farming tapers.

So unless that happens, you have to stick with the current system at hand, and that is where my state of mind is, because the dev's don't plan on changing anything till 2.0, but it can be tweaked, and my idea falls under the category of tweaking the current system. If a sword drops, I want to see a GLA get it. If I see a lance drop, I want a LNC to get it. Restrictions need to happen or people are going to blow the content out in 1-2 weeks, and will be a ghost town till 1.21.

Restrictions = Long term, I don't want something handed to me on a silver platter, at the same time, I want all my hard work to eventually get me the item I desire. Currently with Ifrit, it is a frustrating system, and it needs to be tweaked to cause less frustration.

What I mean is doing the same fight over and over again and getting the same dupes that just fall to the ground since you have them is bad game design. I've killed Ifrit roughly 70 times now and these are my results on drops so far:

    3 Bows
    3 Swords
    2 Canes
    2 Claws
    1 Cudgul

The drop system is poor since even if you get a weapon it can't tell if it's something you already had or not. It's a poor excuse of a grind and if this is the way all primals are going to be something is seriously f*cked up.

    That is no excuse.

How long did we the original world NM's keep us busy for? Darkhold didn't need it either and the majority of that gear was junk to begin with. We don't need stupid personal loot list based currency grinds to extend the life of content.

In fact having a shared loot list does great things to give linkshells and groups goals to work towards and keep them invested in the game for eachother. This sham of a personal loot list based currency turning the "top tier endgame" content into a transparent grind for gear we know will likely be made useless with the next patch must only work on complete saps with no sense at all.

Thank god Yoshida is keeping them happy at least!

by making the fight just not be able to go in as often you didn't increase the life of the content. you just made it so instead of 20 hours in a week someone does it 20 hours a month. it's no different on the amount of time they are not in game either way. if they do it 20 a week they are in 20 hours then sit out the rest of the time and the other way they do 5 hours a week and sit out the rest of the time. there is absolutely no difference in the amount of time the content lasts.

Do you even know what PvP content is? If so, you already know which MMOs I'm talking about.

Did you not read the rest of the post...? He's gonna change it. If it's being changed, then obviously it was a bad idea. Shut up and sit the f down.
