Say if I make 2 plates, but later I want to use shoes in my inventory instead, or gloves that are on another plate - how does that work?

two things :
They're planning to allow glamour plates on our NPCs, that was announced. I understand this doesn't mean SOON, but they're aware that's a desire.
sounds like Gil might be valuable again? Or is this not OK?
While I am not a fan of "destroying" something to make it a glamour, I think I can understand the underlying reason. Once it's just a flag for appearance and color it will use far less data during the check. Inventory increase while managing existing server resources.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
I can understand the reason for it too, and to be honest it was expected, but if they weren’t prepared to release the system with enough slots to make deletion of the items a non-issue, then they really should not have pushed to release it. 200 slots simply is not enough to appease such a permanent system. It’s just going to create more stress for people when glamour is suppose to be just a fun pastime.
If the system is as described in the patch notes, its DOA for me.
I'll keep my 8 retainers and continue to work my fashion without this new flawed system.
Come on Freyt. Just because you won't fill up the space or put hard-to-get items in there doesn't mean other people won't.
I wanted to put some EX primal weapons in there- Sophia, Ravana, etc. I probably won't use them for their stats at this point and they're easy enough to get if I want to farm again. But what about stuff like Savage A9-12 gear? Savage Omega? What about people who want to put stuff from the Mog Shop in there so they can use it for what they bought it for? If it's destroyed when you take it out, you now have to play an inventory management mini-game so you only destroy cheap and easy to get stuff when you want to add something new but have reached max capacity. That SHOULDN'T HAPPEN. A well designed and implemented system would at least let you reclaim so you don't have to craft, farm, or buy it again - regardless of how easy the item is to obtain.
Agreed that 200 slots is NOT enough for a permanent solution. For now I'm going to be using it on the 5 sets I glamour to my 5 main jobs all the time, and to "store" a few things I keep around just in case. But I'm putting most of my Highly used but not easily attainable stuff in the chocobo bags for now.I can understand the reason for it too, and to be honest it was expected, but if they weren’t prepared to release the system with enough slots to make deletion of the items a non-issue, then they really should not have pushed to release it. 200 slots simply is not enough to appease such a permanent system. I remember this too. Who the F wants to use the Glamour Toilet if it destroys all our items. This wasn't an impressive system to begin with (basically just WOW's Void Storage setup), now it's even more underwhelming. He did actually say this. I remember it being a very common concern, and he was clear that things could not be used while in the dresser, but that they COULD be taken out and used. I'd sure like to know what happened to that, whether he might have been misinformed or if the notes are just wrong. I can tell you if you really cant take things out of the dresser, I probably wont really use it. I've already got my retainers for glamour sorted out, I'll probably just stick with the current system.
Not impressed. At all.
As a veteran of WoW I see the glamour dresser as SE's attempt at the transmog wardrobe in WoW. The issue here is the glamour dresser PALES in comparison. In WoW it's nice and easy; you find an item, it unlocks in your wardrobe, you get rid of the item and never need it again (unless its like an actual upgrade of course). Yet for whatever reason SE decides its better to limit the players on their choices of attire to 200 slots? Not to mention the fact that the items in your dresser CAN NOT be used for your squad members. This means the gear I WOULD be putting in the dresser...I can't so that I can use it for squad member glamours for whenever they up and decide to make squad members able to level to 70 and upgrade their gear. Im not saying "ZOMG SE just copy/paste WoW!" but seriously...its clear that SE is trying to offer the same thing, yet with every change they do to make it more available to players...they do something else that utterly complicates the system at the same time.
Eh, I could take stuff OUT of Void Storage. This was an inferior system to WoW's version in every possible respect BEFORE this change. Now it's borderline useless.
10 Plates is enough to give a unique glamour to each Job plus 2 classes.
Use old Glamour System for
1 Tank Job
1 Healer Job
1 Caster Job
1 Ranged Job
1 Mnk/Sam
1 Drg
1 Nin
Then you just have to use plates for
2 Tank Jobs
2 Healer Jobs
2 Caster Jobs
1 Ranged Job
1 Mnk/Sam
