Trying to get my AST alt through Heavensward and into Stormblood content, get Final Steps of Faith. I was thinking, "Oh this'll be easy!" if only because I've done the Ex version several times before. But after I queued in, it dawned on me that most everyone there had never done this duty before because they kept making the same mistakes again and again, namely not stacking when the marker went off. The marker would appear and everyone would run AWAY from it. We wiped once due to a failed stack. Subsequently told the group how it worked and tried again. Instead of running away, half of the party just didn't bother to stack at all. Progress?

I noticed the party wasn't getting topped up on heals very quickly and thought maybe it was me not being on top of things but nope. After yet another failed stack marker and a few following AoEs, only the tanks and my cohealer (a WHM) were left alive. Nidhogg was at 10% at this point. But LB3 was up! PRAISE THE TWELVE!! Buuuut the minutes ticked by and it stayed there untouched. What was the WHM doing? Casting Medica II over and over. The chat was pleading with them to use the limit break but nothing. WHM finally gave me a raise for whatever reason. I immediately Essential Dignity'd my ass and cast that LB, barely surviving long enough to get the spell to go off. We cleared not too long after.

Landed in Seal Rock for the first time in over a year (?!) the other day. Had no idea what to do so I asked. One player pipes up and immediately starts explaining everything.

It all goes well, and we get a very strong lead when it's noted a pair of silent players keep chasing down stragglers from the other alliances. Teacher asks if they are bots, since he had just explained that kills mean far less here than in Shatter. Neither were, but one absolutely loses his mind and gets super salty.

A vote kick passes. We immediately get a sub, and suddenly half the team turns on Teacher. The other suspected botter camps the spawn, asking for a kick, another player starts trolling Teacher, and then blames our eventual loss on him.

End of match, I say, "I'm giving *Teacher* my comm, because he actually gave a crap."
I walked away with 4.

Well!

My sister is leveling WHM, her only class, after really starting to play the game a couple of months ago. She was getting closer and closer to the Vault (eek) and I thought, you know, I wanna tank it. I had DRK at lvl 54 or something so the past couple of days I've been working on it. I'm still learning it and the tank anxiety is real! Sister reached the Vault today and so I powered through the next level and a half to get up to 57 on DRK. A friend of mine joined us on RDM and we got another RDM through DF.

We only wiped once Sister didn't use all of the skills she should have but considering I wiped 5+ times my first run through as AST and eventually ragequit, I think we did ok. RDM was very helpful throughout and because we were pre-made, she got all the comms. She did not comm anyone, though, but c'est la vie. We were a rough group (upfront that both tank and healer were new in one way or another).

At any rate - I was very happy for sister. The Vault is such a nasty healer check and we only had the one wipe (and only two or three other deaths, myself and the other RDM on Charibert without the wipe).

I've been trying to get the scholar book from Castrum Abania and some friends were nice enough helping me - no luck though and after two runs we decided to give Shisui a go instead, so my samurai could get the challenge log exp. One friend goes war, the other mcn so we get a random healer.

I grumble about it in voicechat, so my tank-friend asks them if they can put on any decent gear for their class and level - being replied to with that their gear isnt our concern and that my friend should "stfu and tank".
At this point we pretty much decided on a vote kick after the next pull and I use the chance to remind them about vendor and poetics gear... to be replied to with "Maybe I'm waiting for 70 to gear up" and "stfu do I look as if I care?"

Well... we most certainly didnt care for the healer to stick around, the next minute they're gone and our WHM friend comes in to finish the rest of the dungeon with us.

We wouldnt even have kicked the scholar over the bad gear if it wasnt paired with such a shitty attitude. But that wasnt something I wanted to deal with tonight. If you cant be bothered to at the very least get your ass to an NPC vendor and buy some gear for your class and level there, I cant be bothered to run any dungeon with you.

Usually when I get these kinds of players I strip all my gear off and let them try to heal my naked roegadyn ass. "You're right, I don't need gear until 70."

In that context though: what the hell is it with people being so undergeard lately?! Or is it just my/our bad luck?
Me and a friend did 50/60 roulette today - got KoL, hes on his paladin, I'm (still) a samurai. We get a scholar (level 55) and a RDM (level 60, with samurai at 70) - I examine both, as a main tank I've made that a habit so I know how much to pull etc. Still doing that as a DPS - as I said... habit.
The scholar is wearing their AF2 - probably got that from their quest, they seemed fairly new, but still thats not great for their level anymore (but anyways fine for the dungeon). Whats less fine is the weapon. SV-drop. Ilvl43. Not even half as high as it should be for level 50 content, let alone someone on level 55 (aka: with the potential to end up in a 50+ dungeon).
Quick glance at the RDM. I want to cry now. They're level 60, probably here via roulette aswell, which means: They could have gotten a level 60 dungeon aswell. Their gear consist of a Padjal-weapon (not great, but we can let that slide...) and... a mix of ironworks (both upgraded and not upgraded), some crafted level 52 stuff and I think one drop from Sohm Al NM...

I inform both of them nicely that there gear isnt appropriate for their levels anymore and that cheap, easy options like NPC vendors and poetics are a thing - the scholar apologises, saying he has forgotten to get a better weapon. Okay, not cool, but okay.

The RDM... starts bitching, asking if we only care about DPS (well, yes, honey, you're a DPS I dont care if you've got a pretty face, I only care about the damage you bring to the table) and tells me that I shouldnt be typing if I cared so much about DPS.
He then starts counting how often someone dies... for some unrelated reason? Since the scholar DC'd after the first boss without my friend noticing our tank dies. Then I die before the healer comes back and is able to heal again. The healer dies during the second boss bs accident.
...but somehow all of that is more a problem than the level 60 RDM rocking gear that would have barely been okay for the newbie-55-scholar... I leave without a word while the RDM comments the run with "Welp this was something!"

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if they actually were bots that were just being minded on a second screen. I've had too many instances of exactly that - or one player guiding their second account bot through content not to suspect it.

Joined a 50 dungeon in Prog for Roulette while leveling my BRD. As soon as I popped in the boss room was locked. It was Fenrir and it was just the healer and tank fighting it. Another DPS joined after me. The DPS and I stood outside the room until they defeated Fenrir.

Something pretty strange just happened. I was with my friend in Ala Migho(my first time, actually). I was in DRK and she was WHM. I was lagging a lot because my internet was pretty bad, and, because of this and our names(We are twins in game, so our name is pretty similar), one of our DPS thought we were the same person. He said he was going to report us, and got out of the party. And i was like WTF? I'm not playing as healer AND tank in a dungeon that i've never been before! Should i be worried about the report thing? Our IP's are different, and we were in different citys when this happened... I dont wanna be banned ;-;
Also, we got another DPS and finished the dungeon without problem.

Short answer, no.

The GMs can instantly see that you are two different people without having to do anything that takes more than a few minutes.

Nope, no need to worry. Once the GM does the investigation, the underlying account and location differences and such will be seen.
