Wind-up Yotsuyu minion will be for one character only!

good for me i guess since i could care less about yotsuyu-- i'm more interested in the artbook, but if this is route they plan on taking and there is something i would like to have across all three of my characters, chances are i won't be buying whatever item comes with a "one character only" bonus item.

also what if people share an account? my friend and her sibling share an account, and ik this would never be an issue with them but??? for real? it looks like se is starting to draw back on their generosity :x

We pay an extra sub fee for alts. Appears the issue with respect to locked to one character is getting worse instead of better. It's time they at the very least charged everyone the same for the sub because alts get no loving in this game whatsoever. Very disappointing and greedy on their part.

if I want this minion on more than the one chara, I don't just buy a Mog Shop item, I need to buy a physical item. Depending on where you live, that means horrible shipping and tax costs on top of the base item cost. While that might be affordable for the one item, it's ridiculous to expect people who want it on more than the one chara to go through all of those things more than once. And if someone really does live in the game and plays all their charas often or at least rotates between them so having the item for all of them makes sense?
This bites. Seriously. Please reconsider, SE :c

They really should not offer in-game items that are tied to physical items. Nonsense like this is really not good business.

My point on this whole thing is that even though SE is shysty and completely wrong for doing this, the solution is not buying more than one so that your 27th out of 40 characters gets a pointless minion that doesn't effect gameplay at all.

They are wrong and misguided in their decision, but the countermeasure is blatantly obvious

If people share an account thats a violation of the ToS we all agreed on so its obviously not a concern for SE.

For people with alt characters this is an actual concern though and I dont understand why they're limiting this codes to be used on one character only. 40 characters might be a stretch, but already purchasing those merchandise two or three times (I know quite a few people who have at least one alt character) is something they cant really expect. They wouldnt lose anything by making those bonus-items account-wide, since I highly doubt that the majority of people is going to purchase more than one artbook (or whatever merchandise comes next with the "one character only"-code). All they're doing by this is pissing people off and sending the message of the attempt to double-dib.

Please, SE, reconsider. As a loyal customer and someone who bought the last artbooks, CDs and CEs (but actually gave away the codes to someone who cared more about minions than I do), I feel more and more slapped into the face by those buisness decisions. I get that you're a buisness and only after my money - but you should also be after my happiness and small gestures like this go a long way. It costs you nothing but the happiness of your (loyal) customers to make those minions account-wide like they've been for 4 years now.

Really lame but really obvious why they are doing this.

At this point I wouldn't even be surprised if they started selling these limited edition/out of print minions/bonuses on the mog station after enough time has passed.

I think that may be inevitable, which actually makes better sense over them assuming people will buy multiple artbooks.

It does lower the value of the item (in my opinion) if it's not at least available on all my characters. I imagine anyone with more than one character or playing on more than one server feels the same way.

i can't recall where it was said - either in a live letter or a q&A session where they said there are some kind of technical hurdles in having codes account wide instead of char only. it's much easier for them on their end to make it character only. could be a business decision, could be a dev resources decision. maybe with all the things that have been account wide - starting a new char can be a big burden on the system because you have tons of crap to go through your mail when you start one.
