I know where the binding item mechanic is coming from, to prevent hackers from making a damage to the stolen account, but do we need this anymore?
Its not like people are getting their accounts stolen all the time, it was the thing back then,

I think it's supposed to be a gil sink. Not an antitheft mechanic. If you could trade around the same armor forever then people would never have to invest gil in more armor or mats. Removing equipment from the pool removes currency.
