It is a great idea. It would fit in with my role play and game play.
Changes I made:
- Added a PvP section
- Changed Resplendence's effect from being an AoE burst heal that also decreased damage received by 10% to being an AoE buff that decreases damage received by 10%, then heals all those affected once the effect wears off.
- Shortened No Foot Rise's cooldown from 120 seconds to 90 seconds.
Dancer should have a "striptizer" stance.
I've always liked the thought of Dancer as a job due to its limitless possibilities. A job that could fit any role, have a wide selection for weapon of choice (still not sure about whip), and boundless potential for something that's missing in the original post: origin.
No matter how lame of a tie-in it may be (pretty much looking at Red Mage right now), every job has some sort of origin point that someone can point out in the lore and say "oh, that's where it comes from in the game world". It'd be nice to see something like that to give it a little more reasoning for this game.
As for the concept itself, teeny bit convoluted, but a step in the right direction I think. It does remind me though that I should probably redo my ORMOA guide for job concepts though....
Yes to this. I read nothing and still I say yes. When the promotional video for SB came out, I assumed the new Jobs were Geomancer and Dancer, just based on the looks. Dancer could, based on their Tactics actions, be the most OP healer because they could heal/buff everyone on the field regardless of range and their debuffs worked the same way. The main issue was that they were fairly squishy and to offset the lack of range restrictions, their heals were weaker overall. This could be worked around to make it viable for FFXIV though.
I think dancer would work well in the next expansion if we end up going to Thavnair since there's various npcs who mention the dancers there but have it be like its own little branch like what they did with Astrologers in Coerthas/Ishgard.
Yeah, I was worried that it would get a little convoluted. >w>()
When designing the job, I wanted it to be more difficult-but-rewarding and have a more Always-Be-Casting type of gameplay, being more rewarding to those who DPSed.
I designed the Charisma and Allure system so that players would have to generate their own resource to preform dances, the meat-and-potatoes of the job, and would be rewarded for both placing their HoTs and actively DPSing.
Hhhhhhhh iwantedadpsbut Okay! Seconded!
