Fresh level 60 white mage needs gearing help!

I recommend not buying any shire armor(left side) at all. Use your tomes on a shire weapon and shire right side pieces ie the jewelry. You get a box of free left side gear which is 200ilvl including a belt by finishing the 60 class quest. The reason is that you will replace your entire left side by running just five dungeons. You are given one piece of visible armor per run and this piece isn't a duplicate of anything you have. Starting at 61 in Siren's this will be ilvl 260.(?)

As a white mage, you will want to hit your level's dungeon a couple of times to keep your level in line with your main story quest so this all works itself out.

Are you sure about that? the MSQ alone gives enough experience to not need to run dungeons multiple times. I went from 50-70 with only MSQ, mostly necessary dungeons and doing roulettes maybe once a week and didn't have any leveling issues until 68, at which point doing 1 roulette was enough to level (and then again for 69 and 70).

I wouldn't do this, too much time to finish, and not a very good weapon (good for glamour though).

I disagree, the Augmented Shire (ilvl 270) is great gears (I lv up my characters 60-70 using aug.shire, no problem).
Lv 60 gears are underpower (ilv 200), to get into siren wearing this may be difficult..
The chance of getting drop from dungeon is random, the chance of getting poetic and buying shire is not.. Besides, if player run daily roulette everyday, it's so easy to max out poetic..

Since you need a minimium iLVL of 230 to do Baelsar's wall to get to Stormblood, And Sirensong is not any more difficult than the Wall....I'd say Minako has a point. You auto get 1 left side piece of gear in every levelling dungeon so right sides are the most important if you want to stay competetive. Unless you have the time to run a bunch of stuff for augmented shire gear. Or you really like it for glam. Personally, I wouldn't delay anything and get moving to 70....where you also get a box full of level appropriate gear when you do your class quests. It depends on how much time you want to spend to get to 70.

The leveling dungeons auto-self-loot any gear that is not a weapon. There is no guarantee that it will be a left side piece unless you have all the accessories from that dungeon.
