PSA: Macro Sound Effects Harm People with Sensory Issues

Oh for gods sake, not everything has to be built to baby everyone. Just for that, I'm adding pings to every macro I've got.

They made minor adjustments for those with colorblindness; I know they are completely capable of making a simple check box of disabiling user-forced sound effects. I'm not asking them to revamp the whole thing; and I just said, my only issue is with the macro sound effects. The rest can stay as they are. Gosh you guys are acting like I demanded the whole game be revamped because my hands can’t reach the buttons on the other end of the keyboard. I just want one bloody check box to disable the user-forced sound effects. And another coder said it isn’t that hard.

FML this thread has basically come down to whether disabled persons can or should play games or not. This is a suggestion. I do take breaks. I have done everything on my end to fix it. I made a suggestion. It if it was impossible or just groan worthy, I never would have gotten a response from a community lead.

Spamming of that nature is a reportable offense and I know several people who got in trouble for that. But hey, knock yourself out.

Not spam if they're to macros that have purpose, so I will. I can think of about fifteen things I can justify a sound effect for per instance.

Considering you posted on forums you did this to intentionally annoy people with disabilities, all someone has to do is link your quote in their report to show motive.

Sorry to burst your bubble, for certain actions even if it affects other people is not a re portable offense of their terms of use. In fact the person reporting can be cited for false accusations if they receive a a response stating that it's not a violation of terms.

If your referring to the these;

By adding pings they are used in a productive way to alert players so no it is a valid reason. If people get annoyed by it it is not persons fault for using them. It is their own personal experience. Others can just mute.

3.3 Profanity and Offensive Language. You may not use profanity or any language that a reasonable person would find offensive. The Game is for players aged 13 and older. You agree to behave accordingly.

Not likely will fly unless it's announced as an actual act by the person in game. Saying will add it will really have no real reason to be done with ill intent if actions make sense as productive.

3.9 Non-Commercial Spamming/Spimming. You may not use (or abuse) the in-game chat and message services to harass other players.

Adding a pings is not harassment it is a tool. SE has a mute option.

As for posting on forums adding a ping to his actions can be interpreted in many ways. Because of peoples responses in forums I myself use pings when I tank to alert members. Even if he does not mention it and retracts it a person can play a role that constantly makes a similar sound or in terms of RP purposes pings can be added to actions/macros.

But hey I'm sure you have read through the terms right? please enlighten us.

Let these guys toot their own horn. Just like we are ours. In any case, they’re keeping the thread alive, and the more we argue about this, and the more people admit they add pings to annoy people, the more likely SE will realize a solution needs to be made.

Considering we’re only asking for an extra option, the fight would be easily solved with an extra option.

It is disheartening that some people have popped into this thread to apparently troll those of us who suffer from certain disabilities.

I just don't get what there to debate about really. Its a QoL. Debating time? Everything takes time, that's a given, from the smallest to the biggest request. Debating priorities and minority requests? There's precedence and it hasn't stopped SE before. What matters, especially when it comes to QoL, is whether or not there's support from the community for it.

What's really bugging people about this QoL exactly? Some subconscious fear that SE will divert their resources away from some other QoL or content that they want? SE's been making QoL's since the game started and they're always looking for ways to make the game a little more accessible as time goes on. They go at lengths to repeat this to the playerbase.

Some people on this forum would argue about fire being hot if the mood struck them. Like the game could just add a feature where Yoshi P break into your house and punches you in the stomach if you mess up a rotation and people could go "maybe don't do that???" and there would be someone going "OMG YOU BABIES CAN'T TAKE A PUNCH IN THE GUT BUNCH OF CASUALS WANT EVERYTHING GOOD NERFED".
