It's just successive breeding with picking the best star mates you can get with each offspring I thought? So given enough time and rolls, you can have an awesome bird with trial and error.
Also, is it truly that lonely up there in the stars on your diamond pedestal? Perhaps you should grace us plebians with your surefire method to attain world-class chocobos so you have competition.
In all of the threads Diamond has started lately (and trust me I've read them all, it's like FFXIV Real Housewives in that I know I shouldn't look but can't help myself) this is the most helpful, constructive post I've seen.I have a thought - and maybe it'll help rebuild that credibility of yours so you can be a proper mentor. I haven't personally done chocobo racing, as I'm too caught up with working my way into Shinryu EX and O4S, however, if what you have done is indeed working, why don't you make a guide? Don't be like 'do this, this and this, or you'll fail'. Make a guide that is helpful - who knows, maybe you can get some stuff started on your server, and maybe that'll help kill a lot of the negative attention that your posts tend to attract. Just a thought - tbh, if your guide is legit and good, I'll share it myself to the discord channels I'm in.
Kudos to you, ma'am.
I haven't done it, but I've always been interested since I want to write Chocobo caretaking, breeding, and raising into my character's lore. Plus it gives me more stuff to garden. Since Bo racing isn't exactly a hot commodity, the racing food doesn't sell very well or often enough to be worth the time and MB space to craft it, but well worth it if done for personal usage.
You played your cards well. I'll get into this just as soon as I am done with my sightseeing log!
This is so not true. You know how may guides are out there for heavily RNG based activities such as crafting and fishing? The guides are especially helpful in taking RNG out of the equation, or at least lessening it to a certain degree. As an example, a fishing guide out there can tell you about the different tugs and hooking times so you don't waste time reeling in what you know isn't your target.
I can't say whether it needs to be made easier or not, but I can say that it isn't a matter of 'can't' that withholds you from making a guide. Your experience alone can be transferred over to written-form and that in itself will help newbies along the path.
Also note, that like PvP, players may not be interested in head to head races with a RL opponent. Players like myself won't put a whole lot of value into being the top racer as much as actually breeding a chocobo capable of such.
It took me 3 months to breed the bird I have now. Who will take the time needed to breed a champion? Once I was winning and Max power came up from behind and passed me within tenth's of second's to go I was so very devastated. I retired that bird and started over with the focus I had never had before. My mind was ..endurance, stamina, cunning forget everything else train into super sprint and cure III and I went to see what new breed I got and the cut scene was so awesome I knew it was the one. It's just successive breeding with picking the best star mates you can get with each offspring I thought? So given enough time and rolls, you can have an awesome bird with trial and error.
