    I'd like more height variation for all races, if not more features for characters in general.

    However, I also acknowledge that the set minimums and maximums are there for a reason. Auri females are short and demure in contrast to their male counterparts, it's an example of sexual dimorphism in a fantasy environment. Like how certain species of spiders have significantly larger females than males.

    One solution to this could be adding another clan/subrace as the game expands more into Garlemald. As we can extrapolate from life on Earth, differences in region climates, terrain, and other factors have effects on the life which lives off it.

    Currently, aside from hyurs, the clan selection gives relatively minor aesthetic changes to characters. Skin colors, pupil shapes, etc. An example in humans would be the differences between say the typical height and build of Caucasian and Asian peoples. While there are obviously outliers; generally speaking an Asian man would be more likely to fall on the shorter side of the spectrum when compared to someone of Caucasian descent. Currently, at least to my knowledge (it's been a while since I played with the character creator), the clans don't provide that aspect.

    That would at least be a welcome solution in my book.

    I think everything basically has been said. I hope that something changes in the future, whatever it might be - clipping problem fixed, subraces added, more customising of characters etc.

    @File2ish

    Just wanted to add one last thing, if I could make my Au Ra four-six centimeters taller, they would still be significantly smaller than the male counterparts. But it would make a difference to me. They don't have to be half the size of the males in order to make the argument of being the progeny of dragons and therefore a difference in body mass valid.

    I totally agree with the hairstyles.

    As for the height, I want to be able to stay at the shortness AuRas have now, but maybe they could add a bigger scale that makes them taller? Or maybe one of the clans is taller than the other?

    I personally hated the change. I feel the final au'ra character design doesn't match the male design at all. I think SE sacrificed creative integrity to pander to the masses, or what they believed the masses wanted. But it's so horribly mismatched. For reference, here is the original female au'ra concept art. I so wish they would have stuck with it.
    I legit don't think I'll ever get over this. Every time it's brought up, I cry a little inside. That concept art looks incredible and unique within the world of XIV. But nooope, they just had to double down on -

    I have to stop. I have to stop. This whole thing triggers me so much lol.

    Why do people keep saying that their petite look was a last minute change? The majority of the concept art shown during F.A.T.E in Tokyo had them shown as petite. imo the area they really wimped out on was the horns.

    Skimmed through, so I dunno if someone said this already. If SE wanted to implement the Au Ra from the concept art, which I would like btw, they could in another way. I think it was in alpha or something I don't remember, but there were only 3 types of hyurs in game.
    Male/female midlanders and male highlanders. There was a patch that specifically introduced female highlanders. So, if they wanted, they could do the same thing again and introduce female Au Ra "highlanders".

    Having had a day or so to think about it, I have to agree again with the poster saying it would have been awesome for the MALES to also be small and petite. We've got a race where both men and women are tall and burly (roegadyn), one where both are tall and elegant (elezen), one where both are itty bitty and cute (lalafell), and two where the women are small and lithe while the men are more muscular (hyur and miqo'te). Something we don't have is a race where the men are short/thin/pretty. Dang missed opportunities. D:

    I really can't remember or cite where I heard this (if someone else has the link, please pass it on) but wasn't there some interview or something where it was stated that we don't have "cute" or excessively feminine males or male emotes/clothes is because it would make the devs uncomfortable to design/program them?
