Highest Tourney scores possible?

Who said i dont play? I said i stopped entering tournaments. Im usually fine on MGP, i dont generally enjoy tournaments, and back when i was entering every one it was hard some weeks to find the time to do the matches(and yes, i know they cut the number of matches per tournament). So if i dont need what the tournaments give, or enjoy the tournament process, why enter? Why not leave one more spot toward the bottom of the leaderboard(on the weeks i would do well) for someone else?

And as to why build a collection, why build a collection of mounts, orchestrion rolls, or minions? The only mount you need to get around is your company chocobo(a few others end up having story-specific reasons for existing), LoV was DoA, and you can only enjoy your orchestrion if youre sitting in your house/inn room. So thats while decorating or maybe crafting IF you have a house, and generally not at all if youve just got the inn. Some people just enjoy collecting - whether its the process, the challenge, or just having the things.

Okay, so you're a packrat. Got it. I'm married to one of those. No idea why we have all this stuff, but we have it!

Doesn't sound like you play regularly though. That's a shame. Most of the people I run into anymore who DO play are just getting into it. Seems the ones who survive the process don't have much of a taste for it afterward - much like Chocobo racing and LoV (though with LoV I'm told it plays poorly on console so that might be a factor too).

So when's the last time you played a round?

For me the purpose of playing TT is to collect all the cards. I'm looking forward to getting Cecil someday so I can stop doing the tournaments too.

There's no point to this. The card is worthless outside of a TT match. It offers zero benefits and doesn't even come with an achievement. I don't understand this thought process.

Collecting cards is fun. Feels great to finally get a drop I've been trying to get for awhile.
Also there are achievements for hitting milestones of unique cards and beating npcs.

Edit: Expanding on my thoughts a bit I don't like the tournaments because you have to play against other players to do well and you only get a shot at the unique cards every two weeks. I like playing against npcs for their drops and farming instances for drops. Not a huge fan of the cards you have to get from rng card packs but I can deal with it since I have lots of excess mpg anyways.

I like playing TT but not enough to play matches just for the sake of a match. It was the same in VIII-I played it to collect all the cards and get useful items for refining. But once I had everything I wanted I was done with the minigame until my next playthrough.

I would say im more of a "collector" then a "packrat". My glamour retainer might argue. Dont listen to her, shes just mad that im always sending her out on missions when she wants a day off. My interest goes in cycles. When im up, i play multiple times a week. When im down i might go a week or two without playing at all. Most recent round was last week(10ish days ago).
