Dev Team, show me you care about your players because I just don't see it (long read)

Sweet of you to suggest that, but I don't make that claim. I'm really starting to think in 2011 you can't expect anyone to read a paragraph with 100% comprehension unless they have a college degree.

You first claim that you've made multiple posts about how the game should be designed with 97% of the players in mind who quit after the first few weeks. Then you go on and stated again that you believe the game "should appeal to the masses" and say how you started at launch as a CNJ because of <insert assumptions here>. Then you complain about how the constant changing of the game does not fall under your original assumptions and is affecting "your" playstyle, abilities, tactics, fun, experience, and least of all but most relevant, effort.

See the correlation there? I guess your college didn't teach you how to word yourself if you are really not trying to say your opinions speak for the majority.

You are assuming your complaints about the changes made by SE does NOT fall into your original assumptions, and since you've made a series of post regarding the well beings and enjoyment of the majority, you are also making another post based on the same principle. See the correlation?

If you are NOT assuming your opinions equal the majority as you claimed, then the first 2 paragraphs of your post is completely irrelevant, since what you are trying to say really has nothing to do with the majority of the players in game or quit in the first few weeks, but merely about yourself as a FFXIV player and how the changes made by SE made you feel unhappy.

They already said that the shield skills will be moved to GLA. They also said numerous times that all classes are undergoing reforms. They will be giving out the skillsets in advance to allow for feedback before 1.20.

You on the other hand, Neptune, are whining as always due to a lack of foresight based on their announcements. The removal of the Sentinel class comes along major reforms that nobody can predict right now. You are crying about an upcoming change based on how skills are now. Heck, you don't even know if Aegis Boon will even exist anymore, yet you're upset because apparently the shield class being removed is what you think is taking away that skill.

What you're saying is not fact in the slightest. You are upset over not getting a level of customer service you, yourself, feel entitled to. This is an opinion at best.

I appreciate their advance notices and the degree to which they consider player feedback. A+ to customer service from me.

1. Your statement that elitists wanted to lock up the game is absurd - it takes hardly any effort to obtain the same results. You have one rank 50 (CON), a 43 THM, and a 39 GLD for DoM/W. How can you even complain that you're being robbed? You haven't even started leveling other classes and you've been around since launch. Based on that information, correlated with your statements, you want some things but aren't willing to put in the effort. To me that seems pretty impractical.

Yes, there are huge changes. No, they are not wiping the little amount of progress you have made (and "little" is an understatement.) If anything, the fact that you gain abilities from quests seems to be right in line with your train of thought.

You really don't have a lot of ground to stand on here, bud.

I can add a 2 and a 3 but I think what you're asking for, coupled with what you've done, already speaks for itself.

Asking to be compensated for playing a game is the most ridiculous load a crap I've ever heard.

I think it's not crap to ask compensation, I think it would be nice to have some nice piece of gear showing that we have been here since day 1... Why not?

I am not sure what kind of compensation you mean though (or the OP). I don't want money or anything fancy... Something useful and flashy :P
And I don't mean gear like for example the pumpking heads that are only gathering dust on retainer, but something that is actually useful... Like the warp staff in 11.

The only reason you feel this way is because you likely don't understand this is a game that's going through a major overhaul -- An MMO that's been given to you for free beyond a box price for a year. In order to get this game off of the ground major changes need to happen, they're even making it harder to overhaul this game by allowing players to keep the majority of their data.

People voted for class changes as well because let's face it, absolute freedom can't be balanced.

I think you read my post a bit wrong, it wasn't really my "feeling" - it really is a fact (and I am actually quite happy about the overhaul). This game will change a lot and lots of things we do now will be in vain. Yes, we can cry about it, but it will still happen.

And the game hasn't been given me for free... Would people just stop saying that already.
I for one have been very on and off from this game (as you can see, I have only one lvl 50 job) and I have hardly gotten even a month's worth gameplay out of FFXIV.
Should I feel grateful that it's been free to play? NO! I paid £48 for this game a YEAR AGO and I am still waiting for it to be what it was hyped up to be. I bought a new computer for it because I love FF games...
And I am still here, rooting for FFXIV, advertising it to my friends and actually going to start paying the monthly fees as well.

Anyway, I hope the dev team takes into consideration what I've said because whether people post or not many people will feel like the dev team is not doing good customer service. This is a free trial period as well, if we can't expect service now why would we pay for a subscription?

Last time I checked I was just a gamer and not a paid member of the dev team but if you need to know what to do it's all about being fair and it couldn't hurt to start with being fair to the people that have been the most loyal to you. You can delete my character if it helps make your game a better game but all I ask is that you make it right.

I would really like to know what you are calling good customer service... As I stated before SE doesn't have to give you anything at all but they do.
They game us the forums and they check it very often if not all the time, And they gave us lobstone that is full of information. They keep us updated with patchs/undates and that's not something they have to do they could just say nothing at all and just do what they want.
Sounds to me like you want them to call you up and make sure it's ok to do this or that.

Effort? What effort? You leveled an off-class along with your conjurer. That's not effort. If you want effort equal to what sentinel originally was, level gladiator (which is where the abilities are going).

You can get from 1-50 in about 15 hours or less now anyway so it doesn't matter regardless.

to OP. I think you need to step back and realize that you are playing an MMORPG. This is not some single player game where you get what you get at release. This is a dynamic and changing world and EVERYTHING is up for changes and balancing in the future. It's part of what makes these types of games so appealing. Removing an ability or nerfing a class doesn't belittle your achievement. It's still there. You still had fun doing it and thats what counts.


There is going to be countless more reforms coming in the next year and some of them I am sure you are not going to be happy with. You just need to keep this in mind and accept that that's what required to maintain or increase balance and playability. Thing like this happen all the time IRL and people don't complain. "Wah I bought a 3DTV for $4000, and now my friend got the same one for $1200, that's not fair, All my wasted savings and time saving waisted!" do you do that? Do you call the company and ream them out for changing prices? Do you call them and bitch them out for coming out with a better TV 3 months later that is cheaper and better then the one you got, making yours seem obsolete?

Step back, soak in a reality check and realize change happens, deal, accept, or get left behind.
