If it's okay for small FCs to have large houses, then individuals should be able to have them as well. Between myself and my tenants, we are pretty much a small FC, and we use the house all the time.

If I had gotten a house in Shiro like I wanted(was going to be a medium size), I would have had tenants that would be able to use it for crafting/gardening/what have you....sadly that wasn't the reality, and now I sit waiting for them to open more housing.
The OP said they felt individuals don't need M or L houses, by the same token the same could be said of small FCs.
I never said anything about limiting anyone, OP did that by stating their belief that only FC owners should be allowed houses, not even just M or L ones but any house full stop.
My opinion is that a small FC's desire for a bigger house is no different than an individual's desire for one.
Some FCs might start with more people and dwindle but there's a hell of a lot of small FCs that were formed with the intention of being small, which is most definitely the case with the OP, whose three person FC was only formed three weeks ago.
Think about it, nobody wants to die, there's rules to this game son, I'm justified.

Well I don't absolutely 'need' it, but I am happy I got one.
I've been playing for almost a year now and log in pretty much everyday (except for Wednesdays as I have full time job and RL activities in the evening on that day), so unless I'm on vacation which hasn't actually happened for the past 4 years I pretty much log in daily.
I've always wanted a house and I'm happy I finally got one now.
I'm not currently in an FC and probably won't be joining one anytime soon, depends when I find one that I find suiting to me.
I could get an appartement yes but I just wanted a house + garden ... I don't really need to give a reason for 'participating' in 'content' in the game right?
My house is still empty for the most part simply because I don't have all the crafts ready myself and MB prices are currently a bit too high + me trying to finish most daily reset content with a full time job so also a bit time restricted.
That doesn't mean that I'm not active or never go to my house though, Most of the time I'm either in Shirogane or Kugane to avoid the Limsa drama and well because I have a house now.
I do agree with some posts here though.
I can only speak for my own server but Omega has been relatively 'low' pop especially since the 90 days transfer lock disappeared and everybody and their mothers transferred to another server. Apart from Limsa and Kugane there were hardly people around and not many recruits from FC's either.
Then before the servers were offline for the update suddenly everybody and their mothers logged on again.
I took the day off from work Tuesday so I could log in and buy a house ... I managed to login after 2 server crashes and login error, I randomly selected a ward, I jumped on my mount rushed to the plot I wanted (plot 9) and bought it. 2 minutes later everything was gone, not even 10 minutes passed by or pretty much everything was gone in all 12 wards and this coming from a 'low pop' server.
We are 2 weeks later and pretty much since a week ago I hardly see people in Shirogane, Even the big FC estates 'seems abandoned' I run around in Shirgona a lot on different times in the evening and I've only met like 2 people so far. Thought I would make some new friends here now but seems like that won't happen.
The pop is now the same as how it was a week before the update and I find that a bit annoying for the people who are actually logging in on almost a daily basis.
Maybe it's different on other servers but this is my experience on Omega and on Ward 9 where my house is.
Fhaerron- Are you, and maybe others, implying that there should be some sort of rules and regulations once you own a plot? This would entail certain conditions to be met in order to keep house? This is blasphemous. Alot of people on the boards here are so disgusted with how others use their house and how they decorate it. Who cares? Do you want someone telling you what to do with your plot? Probably not. But let's see how stupid it looks on paper shall we?
1. tenant must go inside house 2X week
2. Plot must have Chocobo Stable and/or Garden Plot, and said Garden or chocobo must be interacted with 2X a week.
3. House must be furnished with at least 50% indoor and outdoor capacity.
4. If Personal plot has tenants, tenants must visit house 1X a week.
5. FC plots must have visits from 30% of FC each week.
6. FC plots must have 1 or more Crafting Bench
7. FC plots must be used for social gatherings to include neighbors.
8. Should I keep going?
Ward 4 Goblet Plot 30 is for sale, owners switching servers soon.
The #1 reason I own a house is gardening. I'd purchase a large just for myself if I could just to have 3 garden plots. My small only gives me 1 plot so limits my ability to make gil gardening in comparison. Yes, my house is decorated except the interior since I spent all my gil buying the plot in Shirogane and decorating the outside. Building up some gil and then I'll eventually decorate the interior.
