The 24 man loot system has always been awful and needs some actual brain cells put behind it. Its such old-school design garbage.
tokens would be good but it should use an 8, 6, 4 system similar to Savage.
Here's an idea, what if when an item is passed on by the whole party it's then presented as an alliance wide lot?
Since there are situations where say a Tank body may fall in Group B but Group B doesn't want it however someone on Group A wanted it.
So rather than have that piece of armor fall on the floor if everyone in Group B passes on the item then both A and C will have an opportunity to lot on it.
While agree with this and some recent discussions I\\'ve had in my linkshells have tied this to so ma y of the games problems.Gear treadmill is too fast to stress out over gear unless you plan on doing the new Bahamut and if you are this gear is worthless anyway.
I learned my lesson fast, by the time World of Darkness hit, I was already to the point where I ran it once, maybe twice if I got bored, and if I got gear great, if not oh well. For extremes and regular dungeon grinds tome/nm omega gear is just fine. I will put days and weeks heck even a year into something if I know it will be long lasting. Relics and mythics in ffxi for example. This game though, the reward is generally not worth the hassle..
Right down to terrible dps players. When gear is replaced so fast it\\'s really not worth making an effort to get. I still don\\'t have a job higher than 323 because I just don\\'t care for the grind. And honestly that also makes me a little lazy. Why play my jobs to a high level when my gear means I\\'ll still be miles behind the rest of the group in terms of dps.
And there\\'s never any content thay requires that gear either so there\\'s no motivation to get it. There\\'s 1 single encounter in the entire game where you might actually need 340 gear. Everything else can be rofl stomped even in verity. So there\\'s really no drive to go much higher than that.
Does this still work on primals?Your own post explains why they won't. Would you have ran 23 times had you been awarded a token after your first run? Would you have ran more than once at all that week? The whole purpose behind RNG based loot drops, as frustrating as they may be, is to ensure people continuously queue. The only alternative I could see maybe being considered is a token system similar to Primal farms-- where you can exchange a certain amount for what you want. Say twenty runs. That way you're eventually guaranteed to get it.
My babe been wanting shiva mount but never gets lucky on the dice roll. Is there still tradable tokens to get it guaranteed eventually. If so what are the tokens called? Or are you talking about the fate ones like Odin and Ixion only?

I would have run it as many times as necessary as it would take to get all the tokens I'd need for the gear I want.Your own post explains why they won't. Which I would have by now, even if they were ten tokens each.
There is no reason to eliminate the gear restriction. Just make it so the vendor will only sell you one piece (EDIT: per week).
It's the difference between having a goal to work towards and playing the lottery every single day.
I feel like the only person who likes to run Rabanastre just because it's fun. ^^;; Admittedly, a surplus of Savage tokens makes me less worried about the 330 gear than others, but still, I wouldn't do it if I didn't enjoy it, even for loot. I think the resultant clown fiesta on Hashmal and the last boss are charming in their own way.
You need to add mounts to that sir!Really players are spoiled for choice this game. There are several avenues for getting gear. You never have to completely rely on drop rates. There's tomestone gear, omega token gear, crafted gear, gear that drops from bosses/chests, and tokens that upgrade tomestone gear. And all this isn't good enough? While we're at it lets just ask for entire sets to drop on the first kill.
Basically this. I greed on any chest or leg piece to save myself 900 ish tomes
