    Gearing Several Jobs survey

FFXIV is a game that allows you to level up all jobs/classes at the same time, yet every patch they add a new kind of tomestone this limit you to be able to gear up one or two jobs at best.

Most of the time people start playing one job for the start of the raid progression yet after maybe a month they realized they would like to play other job, but since you have no gear to play that job you are stuck with you best geared job, or take the hit and use a non geared job and get behind on progression.

So I was wondering, why not add a tome cap for each job, this way you can gear up several classes at the same time, this might not work on raid gear, but at least will allow groups to try out different compositions without having to re-starting the whole raid progression with minimal I-level

This has been brought up tons of times with many other possible solutions by the community but no word from SE about what they think.

It would be nice to have the tomestone cap for each job. I play a DPS, Healer and Tank as needed, would be nice to be able to gear them all equally.

I'd love to have a cap per job. As it is, I tend to feel rather pigeonholed into one main job, with maybe a secondary as backup which doesn't get much love. I know for me personally, this would make me far more active in game as I'd actually be able to gear alternate jobs as a proper pace.

I play all 3 roles my self, unless your playing non stop and have that goal set it, really is not worth it.

For example; take omega gear like before you were limited to one item per week per section. With new raid release that rule was removed with the exception of item for weapon. You can get gear that is somewhat on par with tomes and a lot faster to obtain if your early enough.

IF you really want tome gear, unless your constantly a tank in the queue wait time can sometimes be a pain. Having a cap for every job would probably burn most people out and make content very repetitive to the point it becomes too boring. By placing the limit as it is now people are kind of encouraged or forced, however you see it, to do other content. Now with Crafting and Gathering scripts limits raised based on how many jobs are maxed for that category would be nice.

    .
yea Id have to disagree, with this your talkin a 20 ilvl difference I main tanks , but I would also love to be able to play every job decently. Being able to gear them would help, I dont see how people would get burned out simply because you could still do a 450 cap thus still makin it take weeks to gear them. And also alot of people dont even care about gear all that much tbh , its still plenty of people with their main jobs full of verity gear.

Why are people so afraid of giving more control to the player in terms of how they spend their time in game? If I want to spend more time gearing jobs, why shouldn't I be allowed to? As it is now, a lot of players just get their weekly caps/drops, and then go play other games until reset. If people have an interest in other content, they are most likely already doing it. I am not suddenly going to have a strong desire to start crafting to fill my time just because I've reached my tomes cap.

Also, I don't see how you can be for keeping combat tomes capped to a single limit while expanding DoL scrip options.

Id love a cap per job. I have 4 classes at 70, soon to be 3 more...It's impossible to gear them all decently with the cap. I like playing as multiple classes and I really feel like its multi class unfriendly when it comes to gearing, where as its encouraged everywhere else. I don't get it.

I'm one of those players that likes to max out about everything for every job, including relics. Just like your self, I see you have plenty of level 70 jobs, I think certain players would enjoy it. I personally think unless there is something worth while in terms of getting some kind of benefit besides glamor or at least an achievement all it does is give you a way to pass the the time until the next update or expansion. The current gear, Lost Allagan is only nice to an extend. Unless your constantly hunting to get books, to get items to upgrade them, or doing Salvage they are not worth the hassle for every job. At least from my perspective. If you have done relics you can probably have an idea of what I'm referring to. Yes they are nice and the satisfaction of finishing one is really great. After your 5th one it kind of loses it's luster. Now if they were to do some kind of incentive such taking off the limit for the item for weapons then I would agree with you.

On another note the only real benefit I see would be that people would be forced to play each specific job and force them to get better at playing that job and Max it out to get the high tomes. So many players think they know the role, and it's painful at times. Unfortunately most of the community will probably complain regardless that it's unfair in one way or another... -.-
