It is worth it to me both because I think the game is worth paying for, and because it will provide a culling of quite a few people I don't want to play an MMO with (such as the OP).

Maybe they will return in 2.0, maybe they will never buy a Square Enix product ever again. I don't know, and I don't care as I am not a stockholder. What I do care about is not having to share servers with the likes of people such as the OP who seem to be nothing but drains on the community, with their incessant whining and self-entitled temper tantrums.

I hope this isn't deleted as not adding to the discussion, I feel that community is a big part of what makes an MMO enjoyable. Criticism, aimed complaints about specific topics are one thing, this is quite another. People like this should quit the game.

In my opinion they contribute very little constructive discussion here on the forums, and negatively impact others who are forced to share a server with them.

Have you ever heard of the word "Hypocrisy?" Did you even read your post after typing it? Surely, you MUST realize that you fall under the exact same, alleged, category as the OP.

Any opinion that doesn't align, perfectly, w/ your own twisted set of ideals is deemed "whiny and unproductive;" and then it's completely dismissed? And you don't think that makes you just as much of a drain on the "community" as you CLAIM the OP is? You don't even respect ppl enough to CONSIDER where they might be coming from, and why they feel the way they do. Not everyone who plays MMOs are there to "make friends" like you. Gameplay is EXTREMELY important to a great deal of players; and this so-called "community" of yours won't even EXIST if gameplay continues on the way it is now. The OP is upset b/c no SANE person could justify paying full price for a "broken" product. Just b/c you CAN afford to pay for something, doesn't mean you SHOULD. Seems like there is a ton of stuff you haven't done yet. Anyway, more end-game is coming. And I do hope that they let you materia or convert dungeon gear at some point.

You're basically asking him to run around aimlessly, and do pointless things. I can MAYBE agree w/ you on the Dungeon Raids, but everything else was a pretty ridiculous "rebuttal." Yes, he could lvl every DoW/M and DoH/L to 50; yes, he could touch every single Aetheryte and Aetherial Gate; yes, he could kill every single NM, only to drop their items from his inventory the moment he gets 5 lvls higher than the drop; yes, he could complete a bunch of random quests that give nothing but exp you probably don't need and items you can get crafted; yes, he could complete every faction leve for, again, items he doesn't need (or items that aren't worth getting), items he could buy, or items he could get crafted....YES, he COULD do all that.

But what would be the point?

What you fail to realize is that when you start talking the way you just did, and the way the OP just did, a civil discourse is pretty much impossible from the get-go. You don't get to scream and shout at other and then cry foul when others scream and shout back at you.
