Petition for more wards / instanced housing

I'd love instanced housing. I don't care if people can't walk past and see my house, as long as I have one that my FC and I can warp to.

Though I don't feel like it will do much good (which makes me terribly sad)... I do wish they would fix this. I just want somewhere to put all the shiny things I've crafted!!! There was nothing more upsetting today than seeing the group on our server that's basically the "real estate" team snag a few houses in several wards.

Just to bring something up after reading over some posts... the original housing announcement was made BEFORE 2.0 was released. As a 1.0 player, keeping an eye on what they were speaking about and wanting. I remember seeing them speaking about this and about how the original plan was to keep FC and personal housing in different wards. Obviously they went against this... I just don't see the need for personal housing to be in wards.

Why not make them instanced? Create a list to select a players property to enter(like apartments). Or one for party members housing instance much like the FFXI mog house. Only don't take years to do this one.

When it comes to quality of life content... SE tends to fall behind every other mmo developer. I don't think they realize how important quality of life content is... It's just as if not more important that raids and dungeons. EVERY successful MMO has those. FFXIV is nothing original in that regard.

Instanced Housing If instanced housing is like the guildhalls in .hack//GU (where one speaks to the gatekeeper to get into their guildhall, but can also access other guildhalls with an invitation of sorts), then count me in. It'd be great if gardening and maybe landscaping was still a possibility.

More Wards would be my preference but they concern me because 1.) that puts more strain on the servers (we have 10 million players - would wards even be possible for that count?). 2.) even if they added more wards, there likely wouldn't be enough and people who a.) have slow download periods (it took me six hours to download this patch, and yes I started downloading it as early as it would let me) b.) had queue issues, or various other uncontrollable factors. That means people with slow download rates or bad queue chances would still go without even if more wards were added.

I'm fan of "the neighborhood system"/ward based design, through and through.
Honestly? I have nothing against exclusivity of it, I like it more this way. Privilege, not right. The fact that you have to work hard to get where you want to be. If SE would make instanced housing possible, I would not object it, but as long as things stay the same I'm not going to join my voice to those who lobby for instanced housing.

I too missed my chance to buy large plot today by mile- but, still, acting quick and smart, found my two FCs medium and small plots respectively. After, my FC of 4 irl friends split third of leftover money between people who wanted to try and buy private plots, and 3 of them did. Tally of the day: 1 medium and 4 small plots.
Remaining two thirds were saved for future chance to get our hands on large plot.

We are not even on some poor dead server. We used to be on Leviathan (where we had medium house as well; bought when wards 9-12 were added), but then we chose to ride the wave of free transfers to EU datacenter. 4 of us have FCs on Lousoix and Omega, the two FCs that got their halls today, and private purchases were made on those servers as well.

We are casual players, only one of us crafts seriously and one gathers, but lo and behold, no one or nothing stopped from saving the gil and taking time to try and pursue our goals for FC estates. And we are going to continue, as long as it takes to make the dreams of FC mansion reality
