Oh please no, I rarely even win the daily cactpot. RNGsus wouldn't have mercy. (Not that the current system is any better)

My Thread was also remove.

I have found moderation on these forums to be dubious at best. Its disappointing if this is the case.

So, for those who can read the text without going through Google Translate -- what are their forums talking about with regard to the houses?

If that's the case, I could make a thread as I live in Japan.... Although they may still lock me out since my account is NA.
Maybe I'll do this though... I could get my boyfriend to help me write it since he's a native speaker so it would have no reason to be taken down...(they may have taken others down if they weren't exactly intelligible I guess?)

A lottery could work but I'd combo it with an Auction house Style.
Basically a Large House use to cost 150mil now it's only 50 mil so what if it started at 50 mil and people bid up to 150mil(they have to have the gil of course) and you have 24hrs to bid on the houses.
When the 24hrs are up the highest bidder wins if there are multiple 150mil bids then there is a roll to see who win. That person loses their 150 mil gil and the other get their gil back.

My quick look tells me they aren't saying anything. But a post I made earlier may explain why: The majority of Japanese servers only have around 5k players on them. Before stormblood came out, "dead" servers on the NA data centers had around this many people and there were still tons of houses open throughout the wards. I'm guessing it isn't really an issue on any server there except for maybe 4 or 5 servers out of 32....... And besides that, Japanese people don't have a huge tendency to interact on social platforms like forums. (Ever check the comment sections of Japanese youtube videos? Usually few comments from Japanese people.) So it's likely that most people who didn't get a house and are upset will never voice it here.

If they do a lottery system I’m out.

Ohh WOW. Really! I thought there were more active Japanese players in this game than NA players. I figured their servers would be nearly bursting. My quick look tells me they aren't saying anything. I don't want to think that the devs don't know.. I mean surely they must know how we all feel about this. Threads with fewer comments and lesser interaction got noticed, surely these would too.

There are 3 datacenters in Japan. NA has 2. EU has 1.
The fan made Lucky Bancho census recently put out showed that most servers on the JP datacenters are lower population and more evenly spread out than we see in European and NA servers. It's for the most part the reverse of what we have, JP having a few outliers of gargantuan servers in a sea of low pop verses NA/EU having a few dead servers beneath mid to high pop.
That makes it appear that most JP players are competing for housing against 4k to 8k players, verses us fighting upwards to 4 times that.
Honestly, to me it looks like that Japan has too many servers, or conversely, that NA and EU badly need more (EU's filled up at warp speed when they were added...). But, one feature is not enough of a reason to add a datacenter.
