/signed this system is designed for 99% of people to lose. there is absolutely no reason to gate content like fc workshops and gardening behind something if it's going to be artificially limited to this extreme.

I strongly recommend signing this. Square Enix want this sort of communication. They even encourage it. Why? Devs want to give us what we want but they have to show proof of demand.
Probably to upper management, and get approval, resource and funding.

According to https://ffxivcensus.com/ most servers have about 20,000 players. There are 2880 houses per server. That means only about 14% of each server can own a housing plot. Be it an FC group or an individual.
Sure enough, housing plots are a luxury item but demand is so high, that more wards are really needed.

Until then, the good news is since 4.1 there are now 21,600 instanced apartments per server. One for everyone.

The state of housing is currently just ...bad, to say the least. Apparently SE doesn't know the size of the player base from their OWN census data. Housing has only grown into a bigger problem since it was released and it needs an improvement. Instead of it being ignored and resources being redirected to giving us things like Bard's "perform" as an example (not saying that shouldn't be added and won't be enjoyed by people), but they need to look at the bigger picture... as of writing this, I see 26 pages of people asking for housing, not bard's literally playing music.. enough said.

-It'd be nice to have instanced houses that you could upgrade eventually.
-Maybe having all plots be the same size and be able to upgrade them by adding underground floors, still looking the same on the outside.
-Maybe even having made it so Free Companies could get a grasp on them first and then allow players to get theirs at a later date.
