While that sounds good in theory; it's not going to teach you anything. I'm guessing running with NPCs is 1 group of mobs at a time with a party that does low damage (See: No AOE). This is in no way realistic of XIV.
It's going to be fun enough to make me want more of it. Not being in a group of other people yelling at me to OMG HURRY UP or OMG GET GUD or whatever while I learn my skills will give me more confidence.
Not everybody likes getting yelled at.

I had the interesting experience of watching my ARC npc aoe on two enemies!
Also, the melee dps have their AoE in Halatali and will use it liberally.
I actually had to work at holding aggro off "both dots straight shot barrage" ARC on bosses because they have no clue how to use refresh and tactician. Also the healer dps'd too much and let me die.
(I had issues in WP boss 2 - the tank NPC kept trying to... tank the adds in the area that unlocks after the boss? The heck?)
