    I'm very surprised that it does not 'save' progress.

    It's moving at a snail's pace for me. When it restarts at the beginning it does go through the previous files a bit more quickly but then it slows down again. I'm currently sitting at 790/1798.

    It does, it's restarting because it's failing a checksum or something, because once it gets past 900MB it does a patch against the files.
