Just logged out in front of the house I've aimed for.
There are at least 5 ppl at that spot though and probably more, its 1st plot after all.
I'm aiming for a large so it will be interesting for sure. Many thanks to those suggesting using /busy. Macro ready!
I’m preparing buckets and buckets of popcorn for the obligatory “FFXIV HOUSING SUX”, “SOME FC IS SELLING PLOTS FOR 100 MIL”, “THIS IS SO UNFAIR” threads that are going to be abound come 15 minutes after the patch drops.
I'd like a shirogane house, but I'm not feeling motivated enough to wake up at 4am to do it. I'll roll the dice and see if there is anything left or I'll aim for a house in the goblet.
Actually I have a medium house and I aiming for a large one. I'll not move out to ward 1 since it's the only ward open up at the moment (people will log out in front of their desired house), plus I don't like the number 1 ! xD
P.S.: Nice advise for the "/busy" thingy. I didn't know that method for "anti-trade". I'll create a macro for the next time I'll log in.
Edit: It's very very late but I creating it now otherwise, I know myself, I'll forget after waking up... ><
Edit 2: You can even write "/busy on" if you stressed and pushed the button more than one time. It prevent you to not toggle between "on" and "off". So, even if you pressed 10 times the button, the busy status will always be on "on".

You say you've taken part in every housing release so I want to ask what it's like? Is it as I'm envisioning? Just tons of players mobbing one area making things difficult to click, raising tensions and making it feel like a mad dash? Or is it more like, if you get in early then it's pretty easy to get what you want and if the queue screws you then you just log in to nothing?
「Life is such a fragile thing…」
Putting all your eggs in one basket rather than logging in Kugane and porting to a random ward?
Someone's set up for disappointment.
Also, remember you can port to Shirogane from the main aetheryte plaza instead of mobbing that poor bloke at the pier, provided you've done the access quest.
I missed housing the last time, because I had class. This time I will install FFXIV on my laptop and take it with me.
This is probably gonna be the worst experience of getting them between any of these occasions. We're at a point in the game where a ton of people can not only afford houses for their FC, but their own as well. You couldn't really say the same back when housing first launched, when housing was allowed for personal use, and when new wards/subdivisions were thrown in. I was waiting out price drops on a vacant L for days back then lol.You say you've taken part in every housing release so I want to ask what it's like? Is it as I'm envisioning? That said, it'll be the former of what you think. Mad dash for the house you want (or any really). Previously, it would have been the latter... but not anymore. If your connection screws you over, sorry but Shirogane is probably out. You might have some luck with other older areas, but even those will be gunned for, albeit by a smaller populous.
An additional tip that I didn't notice anyone say, outside of the repeated /busy use, is X on the keyboard (not sure if controller has that function). It's a guarantee that someone or a group of someones will be a d-bag to perspective buyers and try to swarm vacant signs to make it difficult to click. Holding X will remove the possibility of clicking anything that isn't environment related. This is how you bypass accidentally clicking on someone that is standing on a summoning bell.
