The 12.95 comes from XI's current pay system.

But it is actually 12.99 unless they change it, this is coming from the official FFXIV site: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/#/about/game_info

But ofc this was back on original release.

Also, it is exactly that, SE is considering a discount, it is not 100% yet, and if they are continuously reminded that people will refuse to pay $12.99 they will think more on the discount. So it is good to ensure this topic is brought up every once in a while to spark a discussion. A reply to an existing topic can be foreseen and ignored because its 1 post, not a thread.

I don't know if it was mentioned but for the OP and anyone that didn't know yet, SE is seriously looking into reducing the monthly fee for the time being.

It is worth it to me both because I think the game is worth paying for, and because it will provide a culling of quite a few people I don't want to play an MMO with (such as the OP).

Maybe they will return in 2.0, maybe they will never buy a Square Enix product ever again. I don't know, and I don't care as I am not a stockholder. What I do care about is not having to share servers with the likes of people such as the OP who seem to be nothing but drains on the community, with their incessant whining and self-entitled temper tantrums.

I hope this isn't deleted as not adding to the discussion, I feel that community is a big part of what makes an MMO enjoyable. Criticism, aimed complaints about specific topics are one thing, this is quite another. People like this should quit the game.

In my opinion they contribute very little constructive discussion here on the forums, and negatively impact others who are forced to share a server with them.

the issues i have with the game are pretty vast, but the biggest thing for me why i wont pay is the lack of things to do. Endgame right now consist of mainly 3 things, which arent done all that often (in shouts at least) Basically its Ifrit with its retarted drop feature (only reason people have done it so much) darkhold and NMs. The thing that makes those last 2 next to useless is knowing that materia gear is and always will be better, so people don't care as much.

Aside from that, there isnt a whole lot. I spent most of my time leveling in preperation for things, but i realized that there is no way id play for even more then a week or 2 before me and most of the server has beaten the new content to death/ Add on top of that all the little issues which wont be fixed for a while or flat out cannot be fixed until 2.0 and you have what feels like a beta.

I like the game, but i get bored when there isnt much to do.

Now, throw in the basic character fee which includes 1 retainer, that's $3.00 extra (300 more Crysta). They are looking into discounted price, but the "12.95" was just based around if they did it the way XI did payment. If you got the Crysta route, you're paying slight more a month as well.

i think it is wrong to assume we know what the cost wil be. after the live letters there was more than just a suggestion that the fees will be changed. and it is wrong to title the thread with 12.95, it really does give the wrong impression

No matter how you spin it SE is milking the money from it's most loyal players who are paying for a product that is so bad that pre 2.0 will never see the light of day on ps3.

It truly is pre-beta except more expensive than XI.
