I would think it'd be based on the days subscribed, including what is already there, but this...is actually a good question. I hope not too.

I doubt SE is going to reset the veterans rank. This is just to make some of the later rewards easier to get and less daunting for newer subscribers. It sounds like they may add new/future veteran rewards to the Calamity Salvager in the future that are purchasable with achievement points. At least, that’s what the post makes it sound like. I’m glad the points are getting a use.
From what I understand, the clothing sets among the vet rewards will still be there, while everything else is moved to this shop method, and the days required have been greatly reduced. So, if you're close to getting Squall's coat now then you should be getting it on patch day.
Likewise, someone like me who's a stonethrow from getting the Firion minion will now get no minion unless I buy it, and the Zidane and Squall outfits will be in my mail (when I honestly don't want them).
Relics were mostly just straight grind with episodes of rng. Mount drops were rng with a likelihood for grinding if you really, really wanted it. The type of nerf provided to them is different by far from what has been chosen to happen with the vet rewards.Sounds like casuals just got a taste of what it was like when relics got nerfed, or when primal mounts got nerfed, or the myriad of other things that got nerfed in this game (pretty much everything at some point). Most of you had no sympathy for us, so I have no sympathy for you.
I'll go ahead and take my tantalus and squall costumes, thank you very much!
I'm not salty about itDidnt see a thread yet so let's discuss.
If you didn't see, the veteran reward system is changing: http://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...492c0e588afd29
Reading around social media, people's opinions have been divided.
Personally I do understand the change, but as a long time player, I also feel like its a bit harsh to us that earned these rewards by playing for the period of time needed (ignoring those that buy and stack a lot of time cards.)
What's your thoughts? If it means people get to enjoy the rewards earlier, I've got no problems with that and am happy for them

I'm 90 days away from the Leonhart gear. When this update comes will I still only need 90 days or will it have changed to the 200 something days that it's now on?
I know it sounds absurd to think of it like that and it was probably addressed in the post; but it's early in the morning so my reading comprehension is wonky, and I'm always paranoid about retroactive changes to time-based systems.

That means it's retroactive, since you have been subbed for 3+ years you qualify to get the items as soon as the patch hits. Those who have yet to obtain these rewards but already meet the requirements will receive them shortly after the update. (For example: A player with 330 subscription days on their account will meet the requirements for Rank 4, and thus receive the Leonhart Attire reward.)
Also
This means veterans will keep receiving old rewards whenever they create an alt, whereas new players will have to buy them from the AP shop, as APs aren't exactly easy to get on new characters vets have a huge advantage here. For Players Who Have Already Received Rewards
These changes will have no effect on players who have already met the requirements to obtain the items listed above, as well as those no longer available as veteran rewards after patch 4.1. Newly created characters on the same account will continue to receive any items for which they were eligible prior to the update.

You should get it on patch day (or a few days after that) as you will only need 330 cummulative subscription days and you already have 1350 (1440 ./. 90).I'm 90 days away from the Leonhart gear.
