You can enter PotD starting at level 17 so it is possible their outside level is not high enough to obtain the job stone. Just mentioning it is a possibility when you come across people with no job stone in there.

Yeah, she was in crappy leveling gear, in fact. I assumed she was in the 20's range. She wasn't a crap player by any means, so my assumption was she was leveling an alt.

False. You need to be 17 to unlock it, and your class level doesn't matter. I entered it once as a level 1 gladiator to see if it was worth it (It wasn't, took 20 minutes for level 3.)

15 is just where people start to do it because that's where it's faster than grinding the hell out of everything.

I'd like to add in that outside gear doesn't really make much of a difference, if at all. You can enter PoTD with nothing but your weapon and a job stone (if you have it) and clear the place just fine. In PoTD specifically, I give comms based on who did the best for the party...not on their gear.

Two levels, same difference. Thanks though I'll correct it. Basically my point was you can go in there before level 30 so it is possible some people won't have their job stones.

Was just mostly not wanting wrong info. When I started playing that irritated me when I asked about chocobo's. I was told level 20, but I didn't get mine until 24, nobody told me it was main story locked.

Either way though your main point was right. I tend to not worry about crystal or not when exp farming because it's not the end of a run.

I have good news, and I have bad news:

Good news: ran into Moro and Tridus in V3N while running Omega Normal for weeklies with Bourne_Endeavor! There was much fangirling! I was so happy to get to party with some cool peeps from the forums!

Bad news: another monk in v4n using Rockbreaker (!!!), Arm of the Destroyer (!!!!!), and ONE ILM PUNCH (!!!!!!!!!!).

Back to O3S. Again. I swear, this boss is the bane of Kaiva’s existence. I don’t know whether I just plain have bad luck or what.

So I joined a PF that didn’t have the duty complete/completion tags. I informed the party after I got the red error messages that it was me that was missing a clear – but I do know the whole fight, just haven’t been able to clear with anyone. I asked them if that was okay, and if not, I can bow out so they can get somebody that has cleared with them. The party decides to give me a chance. I don’t think I was the only person that hadn’t cleared – I was an AST, but I suspect the WHM that was also in hadn’t cleared either, because they were the only one that had that ‘viewing cutscene’ message when we entered the instance.

But no way to know for sure.

So anyhow, 4 or 5 runs later, when we hit the apanda phase, I notice that medica 2 hadn’t been used in a while. I’m too busy trying to keep up the heals for that nasty combo Helicarnassus does – the books, the apanda, and the dimensional wave that happens (everybody does magic hammer correctly). But even with largesse, there is only so much I can do solo. But sure enough, I was essentially solo healing once we hit the library. And it rewarded us with a wipe.

Now…I’ve been tackling this for a good month now. I know exactly what’s coming. I know when to use my oGCDs and when to throw out my shields for the entire party. Or vice versa, how to work this fight under the diurnal sect. So…why am I still unable to clear? At this point, I’m kind of at the point where I just want to give up. One month…now, granted, I’m sure there were some fights in early ARR that took this long for a world-first. But hell, aside from the very fun FC that I’ve been running with, it seems like all the PF parties can’t even get to the ninjas consistently. Usually due to a tank not mitigating Critical hit, somebody running right into the thorns, tank getting party cleaved, nobody killing apanda fast enough, people sharing panels in library….

I’ve made mistakes too, but damn, I make maybe one mistake per instance, and that’s usually on the first pull. I dunno. Am I doing something wrong lol
