I've gotten 6 level V crafter books so far from red crafter scrips earned by my squad. It's going to be interesting to see how they develop this long term.

I haven't done it up to now, hoping that squadrons will be just a fad that become forgotten like Diadem. But since in 4.1 they're adding to it, it's clear that squadrons are here to stay. This means that sooner or later, there will be higher GC ranks that will grant stuff that would be extremely useful, such as all the mats and things like the chocobo reset etc. that we can exchange for seals. I don't want to be rushing to catch up when that happens.
So yes, up to now I've been doing exactly what you describe: aboslutely nothing. But it doesn't look like they're happy with the status quo.

Well the dungeoneering part is objectively much better than the mission thing, the question is what it'll be for? I mean why running synched dungeons when I can unsynch them? I guess it might be helpful for those wanting to level alts
Why not just..do the squadrons? It takes like five minutes to send them out and forget about them until the next day. A much simpler task than what was asked of you to achieve second lieutenant.
Ideally I would assume it'll end up being intended for practicing Jobs and roles you're not used to without necessarily needing to worry that you're wasting someone else's time or are going to get chewed out for doing badly.
It probably won't end up being anywhere near the ideal.
the 4.1 squads will be able to be leveled to 60.
glamor for them unlocks at level 51+
you can run them only through 5 dungeons (and it's mainly to help you level up alt jobs)
3 new emotes can be unlocked via the squad. which is sit ups, sit ups and the all important squats.
The NPCs have double HP of normal party members and unlimited resources. You won't truly practice anything. If it was a prac mode it would have been better invested in a L70 solo instance before gaining access to dungeonsIdeally I would assume it'll end up being intended for practicing Jobs and roles you're not used to without necessarily needing to worry that you're wasting someone else's time or are going to get chewed out for doing badly.

They have that much power oinly if you train them however
So you mean I could completely ignore the training part and getting new recruits and so on, and just keep sending them out on missions, and they will be able to do whatever mission it is required for me to advance my GC rank? In that case, sure, it's much better than having to actually pay attention to training and parameters and all that synergy thing.

well the promotion mission has a higher stat than general so you might want to min max that one
