This happened a few days ago, but I went into Expert roulette with my fiance (he was SCH, I was PLD), and we got Ala Mhigo, first pull went fine, although the Ninja was just sitting at the start area of the dungeon for a good chunk of the first set of pulls (all the way up to the first barrier), we managed to get past them, now here's where I'm confused as to why the situation is a problem. The two Magna-roader enemies rush too fast for me to get aggro with a flash en-route, so I usually skip them leaving them to default aggro to me, and I flash them along with the rest of the mobs at the second barrier, just before the first boss. The Ninja instead of waiting to DPS, or even using Shadewalker on me, just dealt damage to both of them, getting himself killed really quickly, they then went for the healer, I ran up to them and used flash, because they weren't at the back end of the entire alley unlike the Ninja. The Ninja refused to release, even after myself, my fiance and the other DPS cleared up the rest of the mobs and just sat waiting at the first boss.

Chat went something like this:
*Ninja dies*
NIN: WTF tank?
Me: lol
NIN: no lol tank
Me: you couldn't hold damage for 2 seconds?
Fiance: use your toolset, dude, you have shadewalker, pop it on the tank then deal damage.

The NIN didn't speak after that, the other DPS didn't speak at all. Then at the barrier to the first boss, I get vote kicked, my fiance left after that, and we had an instant queue afterwards. Was I wrong?

Hubris and karma can real. The other DPS should not have passed the vote kick because clearly the NIN was even participating properly. I hope they liked the requeue / wait time.

To be honest I would've been more surprised if they HAD used shadewalker. Most ninjas I meet are allergic to it for some bizarre reason. As soon as I unlocked that skill I started using it liberally, it makes me sad to have to tell nins to use it.

I'm noticing a weird trend among tanks lately, wherein I will place a Divine Star or Asylum on the ground, and they will walk out of it and stand at the very edge of the effect without being inside it.

Stahp it, you silly tanks. It makes your health bar go up, not down. I pinky promise!

Since one of my friends mains healers, and ALWAYS complains about people doing just that, I make it a point when I tank to run towards it and stay inside it....also helps when healers put it down after I finish grabbing the full pull and not after the first group.

Had about twenty minutes before I had to get to work, so figured I could get a quick run in for PotD! Even the worst run can't take longer than that, right?

Wrong.

I got THAT run. Luring traps everywhere, death galore, no useful poms in sight. The run also had a RDM who ran to Antarctica and back when the cairn was open to grab silver chests -- which is fair -- but ended up dragging tons of mobs along with him. I think by twenty minutes in, we were at floor 56.

Sorry to those I bailed on, but when you want a short, smooth run, nothing will go right.

Other gripes from PotD last night:

- People who waited on me to grab adds because I'm a GLD. Speed-running means I'm not trying to tank. The run takes way longer that way!
- Ranged grabbing all the trash and running away from me. Please...
- Healers spamming Medica II + Regen at the slightest hint of damage. An add sees me so I Shield Lo--... nope. No, they're going after the healer, who's four rooms away.
- Clicking off regens (which is a pain since I'm on controller), just to be immediately hit with another Regen.

Definitely soul-crushing.

Just has a quick trip down memory lane and wanted to share the story. Myself and two friends queued for Levelling roulette and we got, I wanna say Halitali but it might have been Toto Rak.
The "random" was our tank. We decided to play silly and somewhat jerkish. We had DPS equipped with Provoke as a cross class. I was using Fluid Aura as often as possible. Basically we were being playful jerks.
My DPS pals were using Provoke to grab aggro.

We told the tank we were going to be doing stuff like this pretty early in the run. His response was great, "My buddy does this to me all the time. We have fun with it too."
It was very light hearted fun run.

I just joined a new FC a few days ago, and noted a newer player complaining about how sprint happy Meridium was since he wanted to see the CS's.

Since I had time, I decided to volunteer to help him get Prea done and actually enjoy the story, and also for an experiment.

I learned it's possible for a level 70 SCH to solo Prea without breaking a sweat. Buddy I was playing with said he had the best time watching me just mop up everything.

Hmm, close, but I need something that also illustrates the crushing despair I felt when I saw it and realised that this was going to be the opposite of quick and easy.
