If I was on my Paladin, I probably wouldn't initiate a vote kick either. But if someone started it, I would happily press yes. Why wouldn't I initiate it? Because Paladin has Clemency and I'd rather adapt.
White Mage ~ Scholar ~ PaladinBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
Damn.that's sure worse than my case.A lot of us aren't able to go to O3S on a weekly basis. A lot of us still deal with parties that struggle with O1S and O2S, and if many of them are like me, we tend to not try to clear the next stage on a weekly basis until we get our clears on 1 and 2. I know I will not touch O2S until I can get a competent party for O1S. Plus, a lot of us have not been around for or have done the Alex Savage content, so yes, people are going to struggle for a little while longer.
My condolesence.
Bardam ( level 65 instance for whoever doesn't know ) , I was leveling my AST , full shisui...
First big pull, the tank starts going down like if he was wearing toilet paper, now...not only he wasn't using his basic cooldowns....he also was in some odd mix of level 50 / 60 green & blue gear....nothing from stormblood for sure...and nothing close to shire....and he kept going for big pulls...with me getting PTSD and spamming lucid dreaming and lightspeed to keep him alive .
It was just so damn stressing...no wonder people ask themselves why there's no healers around...I wouldn't want to heal in level 70 content with tanks such as these...they make me wonder why I still main a healer.
Not a complaint, though I just feel odd about this one.
>Queue up for DR: Leveling for that sweet Daily Bonus and Crack as a DRK
>Got in progress dungeon, 1 minute past
>I was expecting Dzemael Darkhold, Arum Vale, or Brayflox's Longstop since I get those the most when I get the "in progress" alert
>Got Doma Castle
>I have never tanked it, I had whatever level 65 - 66 gear I had on me, only did this once as RDM
>I used my macro to let everyone know that I was new to tanking the dungeon and I was not doing big pulls
>Apparently the prior tank was "autistic" according to the group, so... whatever that means in relation to their group.
>I got there and pulled a large mob that comes prior to the first boss. DPS wanted to run ahead but I didn't.
>DPS was all "I am confused, what is going on?"
>I kept doing small pulls, up to first boss.
>The DPS wouldn't have it after that, if I didn't pull more mobs, they did and brought it back to me, I had to grab the mobs off of them.
>Did big pulls the rest of the run, despite me not knowing were mobs spawned, spawn triggers, enemy types, etc.
>Before the final boss, I had to remind them I never tanked the dungeon.
>I was told by the DPS "AOE" and "If you have tanked one, you have tanked them all."
>Then they pulled the final boss.
>Healer got my com. Since they did the extra work to not only to DPS, but also heal me with gear that I would not do big pulls in (I don't do big pulls until I have 1/2 of my gear being that dungeon's drops or high ilevel).
What I feel odd about is that the damage was great, the team worked good once I got into how they wanted it; but I didn't get any satisfaction out of it.
I then queued for Doma again and got a group with a healer new to the dungeon. I let them know I am not doing big pulls and the healer was thankful for it. The dungeon took slightly longer than the prior one, but it was a more satisfying run. I have a better idea of where to hold mobs and when/how they spawn.
I'm leveling my DRG here and I queue'd into Doma Castke for EXP and I just gotta say this - If you're a tank in Doma Castle still rocking i270 gear and the rest of your party aren't under the effect of level sync and wearing a range of i270-i276 gear, you probably shouldn't be pulling wall-to-wall in the instance...
Just five minutes into the run and we had already wiped twice without even reaching the first boss. Fun.. >>;
I had a lovely tank in Doma Castle today, he'd done it before but still wasn't sure how big he could pull... he was chilled out, patient, and friendly, used his cooldowns appropriately, we wiped a couple of times because of slightly bigger pulls and mobs aoe. But he made my first run in there a lot of fun, so thank you to Behemoth Shishu, you did a good job![]()
Ran Deltascape 2 as BLM. We loaded in, the DRK immediately asked the PLD if they had Shirk set.
PLD had no idea what Shirk was, and claimed they didn't have it.
I am now officially at the point where whenever I encounter something like this, I can only laugh.
