I think that the current system has it's good and bad points:

    1) It's too easy to get a weapon with the current system. Weapons in my opinion need to be overall more rare.

    2) It's too difficult to get the weapon you want. Make the chest drop an item with a very low chance then go trade it in for a weapon.

    3) The cooldown on the fight is too short. This helps with making the weapons more rare. A longer cooldown means not as much practice and in turn a longer delay before we see someone get the first kill.

Having all 7 weapons should be an achievement, not a sign of luck. The weapons aren't exclusive enough overall, in my opinion it's too easy to get them.

bah you guys will once again end up shooting yourselves in the foot when it takes 1/100 runs to get anything at all, then you will wish for the days when you could be annoyed at duplicate drops.

I myself is sitting at 0/25, couple of my LS mates went to 0/3X before getting a drop, few people are still in that ballpark. I know a handful of people that are 0/3X or 0/4X at it. I think Kiara mentioned on of her JP friend went something like 0/66...

From a general statistic point of view the outcome of the Ifrit fight is too erratic. The data shows there are a couple of variables that derives so much from the standard deviation making them absolutely obsolete. These poor mechanics made an exciting experience into something dull and salty.

I had a guy in my linkshell go 0/70ish, but sure enough he ended up getting all 7 weapons without a duplicate before all but 1 of us. I do agree with you though, it should be less erratic, it should take a long time to get a weapon, but the time it takes should not vary from person to person.

I still don't find the Ifrit fight dull after well over 100 wins, try having a parse and working towards optimising your DoT through different combinations of attacks. Brings me back to the days of meriting on FFXI, lots of fun, especially when competing against your linkshell mates

I dont mind this. You can repeat bosses over and over in not long period. I remember other mmorpg where boss poped every24 h. and when you killed it you got nothing as well.

I 100% agree with OP. I spend a lot of time everyday for the past 2 weeks or so playing against Ifrit losing more often than winning and I end up with something in the neighborhood of 1/34 (I am not taking about a spceific drop, this is all I got) while you get people that are already 7/15.

Needless to say, this needs to be addressed. I really enjoy the fight, the exp granted by the repeatable quest (which is very smart move by SE) and the frequancy of time you can partake in the battle. But this, again, needs to be addressed.

Just a suggestion, why cant the system by smart enough to detect if a person went for a certain streak of no drops then grant him a 100% drop of a random weapon?

Whoa...this is very enlightening. Kudos for the effort and the clear charting.

True, I did win lol but why can't I give those appliances to my gal pal Suzie Homemaker? She might really need them. Better yet, why can't I put those appliances on Ebay and use the money towards what I really wanted, the car. I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin' lol.

But yes, hopefully they take care of this and stray from it in the future. It's somewhat discouraging and sad to see the strain it puts on some people. In regards to duplicates, it's so unfortunate that our DD's are already getting mage weapon duplicates while our mages have yet to get any. It can cause quite a bit of frustration.

Also those who have been "lucky" with your winnings, take into consideration if you were one of those who were not so blessed. Watching your ls mates swim in Ifrit weapons while you sit at 0 is not really fun and can really take a toll on a person. :/

And Suzie Homemaker really isn't my gal pal.

the better would be looting Ifreet's horn and craft them into the weapon with lvl 50 crafter and some rare mat. or exchange them with a NPC.

My only issue is duplicates and not being able to trade, I dont' like the idea that I bring along an extra 8th who has never won the fight and he gets a drop where other ppl in the group have over 20-30 wins and they might be getting nothing. Similarly annoying is the key drop items not going to loot list.
