leveling jobs to 70, then working on new tank mounts. (completely skipping savage)
Pexing other jobs but mostly playing other games or spend my evening Netflixing and chilling with the cats xD
People don't know how to take criticism anymore, and bad play is rewarded with with a coddling mentality. Yes, this is a casual game for the most part - that doesn't mean people need to walk on eggshells in fear of getting reported for pointing out things. This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.

My point is a comparison on what was on HW release with SB release and you had a 2 dungeon roulette 2 primals and a normal/savage raidThe difficulty Curve of the game is getting garbage. Until O2S you don't need to know anything you can just blind stuff, and even O2S doesn't need that much knowledge. How can a trial bearing the title EXTREME can be made blind?
Materia isn't a content but more a revamp of what it was until here. They wanted it to be more of a gear personnalisation than a stat increase for rich people.
New Aquapolis has a new end boss, cool, still need to reach the end tho, which represent 1/64 chances to encounter this new content. Until then it's just Aquapolis with different decors and loot. Yay.
The only point where I agree is that they made both Primals and MSQ dungeon relevant. Tho until here MSQ dungeon wasn't in exp roulette and now it is, they finally realised it's worthless to make a dungeon just for story sake that nobody want to run after then. But as I said just above, both primals may be relevants, but they doesn't deserve the title of extreme. This extension is just like a gear fest for casuals so that they're happy and keep subbing for SE's money.
aquapolis was introduced later, Spiritbonding and materia in general were dead till later and crafting was made obnoxious, we got 1 less jobs, but we got a revamp in the battle system, which honestly I'm not in the position to say how much it took to them to finilize, sure as hell it took 2 secs to us to complain about things though!
So yes with got a little more whatever you like it or not
Want to complain on cuts? How about the fact we are losing another dungeon for new content? I mean I can understand the reason yoshida gave that dungeons were a way to get tomestone and now we have many alternatives, but didn't we already lose a dungeon during HW?
Now I don't want to derail the thread anymore so that's it for this agrument I think I said enough on why I think we got a little more and better than HW release
And this is the problem for quite some people. We said that they might have still played it save with HW thus they did not do much new but SB is in a way HW with a new paint and after so many years people might get tired of doing the same things (in different paint). Thats why it would have been nice to have a completely new endgame content with the release of 4.0. Now people will have to wait for the big patch and hope that Eureka is good. The argument you're using right now, however, is flawed: Other than ARR which had a huge file to work with already, Heavensward was the same way. The first expansion release had experts to grind up to get tome gear, and then the .05 released the Alexander raid. Extreme Ravana/Bismark was also available, which Susano and Lakshmi are for SB.
In short: This is the same amount of content that was released in HW.
Also HW had lots of complaints too. Since barely anything was truly new and the devs took a break, was really bad for the game. People became really bored and if you can believe some posts, this decreased the sub number. So being just like HW is not really that good because HW was not received that well.
Yes and with other patches we will have less dungeons in roulette. But just one dungeon more in SB is truly that nice? If they had introduced something like Palace of the death (but not the same with a new name) or even just Eureka we would have some truly new content. Aquapolis is still just old content with a new paint. Would you be fine if they went ahead and only introduced PotD 2-xxx or Aquapolis 3-xx in future patches/expansions?You may not agree but we do have 3 dungeons in the roulette, which Might not be much for you but it's a nice change and you can actually SB gear for materias withotu it beign an hassle, not to mention that running ala mhigo is not as boring as ARF was.
also pls take note that 3.3 introduced aquapolis not 3.0 so yes we got that as a more

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
I am leveling other jobs to 70. I just completed my 6th.
It is a bit slow now but once new relics come out that normally keeps me busy.
Same Time(~8 weeks) after HW Release i take a break from 3.0->4.0.
There was nothing to do for me.
Now in SB i get a new AF Set for every Job at 70.
Last Week i got my Goddess of Magic+BRD and now its time for Tank+Melee Jobs.
Glamour is content.^^
ha trust me I know why Im doing relics and stufff and bought two new retainers, But you hit a note tho when people say glam is in game they really arent lying. Not really sure if that is a good or bad thing

This game has always had a lack of content if you are already finished on savage raiding.
Game is not designed to be played like older mmos. Why mid patches you notice ppl logging in about 1/3rd as much as they do at the beginning of patches.
This is by design and will not change. The game is designed for primarily casual/weekend gameplay. If you are someone who wants to work on non-progression content aka achievements, housing, glamour, titles, minions, mounts there is a ridiculous amount to do. If you are someone who wants to work on gear progression, guild progression, and/or static progression this game is extremely lacking in that respect. Unless they remove or drastically reduce vertical progression (Which they will not, this is a themepark) there will never be enough content. Problem is 4.0 negated the last expansion.....4.2 will negate 4.0 and 4.1... 4.4 will negate 4.2 and 4.3 and so on. So the lack of meaningful endgame content will always persist due to this game design
