Got kicked for the first time last night

First time in "Keeper of the Lake" as WM. Said my usual "Hi Guys, this is my first run" but no response... First mobs no trouble. 1st Boss the Tank runs past the Nix which drops AOE so I have to wait for a bit or get hit, into the arena with one DPS and Tank already engaged but healed . Canisters blew wiped me and one DPS, ran back to just before the NIX with the other DPS. "Any help on this boss" I say to the DPS, no response. The Tank and other DPS go down. The Tank runs in again past that Nix, the 4th DPS is still way back, the NIX drops its AOE, go in the tank on maybe 15 percent health, I spam all I can but he dies, last DPS joins but boss targets me and I die. Enraged tank "Heal!? Res!?" We run back to the boss and I say politely, "Hey Guys this is my first time,just a bit slower?" Vote Kicked
Duty Finder... new party, Said I was new again. Burned that Nix down, explained mechanics, all went sweet. I made some mistakes in their defense but still a bit harsh.

Don't worry about it as it can happen, you just need to brush it off as some players can be "difficult". I had it once when I was in a duty roulette with my wife and the tank ran into the last boss room when the rest of us hadn't even gotten to the room yet, he was already at 20% hp by the time we got to it so we just stood outside and laughed as it was pretty funny watching him try to run away once he realised, then asked why he pulled already. He was obviously in the party with his friend as I was instantly kicked along with the wife, I just laughed it off as the guy was clearly just being salty.

PS - I noticed you're on my server so if you want to add me I'd be more than happy to help tank a few dungeons with you etc from time to time if you want to learn some of them as well.

Just unlucky the first time round. No point milling on that sort of behaviour. If a tank is being a complete douche I always leave, I don't care about debuff, I would prefer to have debuff then to let those people think it is okay being like that.

More people should punish that sort of behaviour imo. Letting people get away with rude behaviour is just as bad as if you are the rude party yourself.

This sound more as if the other players played bad and gave you the fault for it. Have the DPS at least kicked away the containers or have they ignored them?

If the tank rush to the boss and start the fight before everyone reached the room, just wait outside until everyone is there, then enter the room if the barrier is still down.

Keepers bosses are a bit tricky if not played correctly. They can kill pretty quickly. Sorry it happened to you but it happens to all of us at one point or another.

Thanks guys, 1st boss pulled the canisters in, I play PAL too and would have used Circle of Scorn to blow them back out, but I was busy healing the Tank so ran away from boss to avoid the inevitable. Got hit by a couple of big ones going off I think which does area wide AOE. Try to watch lost of vids before a first run so as not to screw up too bad, still new though so I am willing to believe I made some mistakes. Second run was perfect with the tank being a real gent. So will brush it off as hopefully as just one of those things.

Another issue with that first boss is to try and place the canisters to one side and then to also not stand in front of any of them. The boss will shoot at party members and if a canister is behind you it'll ignite. If played correctly the boss isn't bad at all but more times than not in DF it isn't.

Hey Thanks, that would be great! I have a yearning to do Aurum Vale, which I need to do to get my promotion in my GC, and also because it has such a terrible rep as a wiper of stout parties ;-)

I remain ever glad that this sort of thing is uncommon, as opposed to the norm in some other MMOs I've played in the past.
