Yeah, exactly. They are just going to stop development on jump and the new zones with jump in mind all for a loud mouthed minority with a barbaric MMO agenda. That is totally in their best interest.

Haven't you stopped to think that with 2.0 they don't want to shoot for a niche market of players like yourselves? That's what FFXI was and SE was comfortable with that. They were comfortable with making another MMO for the same group of people til it failed. Maybe they want to be bigger and not lock out a market that is starving for the next best MMO. It's actually a really good time for them to redevelop the game and release 2.0. Leaving out these MMO standards would be a terrible representation of a next gen MMO. Something they are going for.

Sorry. Your niche MMO is dead and is slowly being developed into a more mainstream market in mind. Get over it.

some would say you obviously haven't played 11, others would say you did and you just don't get either 11 or 14....they have nothing in common except the name even now with the new team. I would say you have no clue what you are talking about. 14 failed because they tried to make it more open to casual players. Every Yoshida article states that they need to put more content for hardcore players.

FFXIV failed because they tried to make it open to casual players?! LOL some may say you played FFXI too much and some may say you don't know what you are talking about.

Then this may come as a shocker:

As you work your way down the pyramid, players become increasingly casual. It bears mentioning that this model illustrates the quantity of players only, not quality.

In the first generation of MMORPGs, the pyramids were skinny and tall. In the current generation, while I think the peak should still stay way up there, the slopes projecting down from it should be less extreme. What I want to make is a theme park where both casuals and hard-cores can exist and play together. That’s the minimum requirement I think a modern MMORPG should fulfill.
