They are too late with respond and apology, screw them.
They are too late with respond and apology, screw them.
A bit of a late response there.
In the end, all of these appologize mean nothing since the change will happen regardless and that specific change will make FF14 the game with most unresonably priced sub in RU region (more bareable in BR region, it would seem). Decent damage control though, i guess.
There is Just one problem you seem to forget. GB still pays less money. Why? If they want all to pay same. They still have regional pricing.

Technically everyone has regional pricing; in that case the currency has been all over the place due to political events and nobody knows where it will end up. I assume it will be adjusted at some point depending on S-E's currency costs and stabilising exchange rates, but there's no point adjusting it then adjusting it right back when things are still in the air. Having said that, the UK can afford a minor change to pricing and anyone in the UK who games a lot likely knows about the issues with cross-region prices rising. It's not the same as the sudden punishing increase for the BR/RU regions.
Time to buy a lot of game time ahead then
Ok let poor little GB pay less. They are in a very hard spot right now(sarcasm). EU/BR(even if they have much more crisis, even if they have problem with currency rate too) will pay for them. No problem.
Huh? I'm on your side. But if they raise the GBP price without considering the circumstances, all it does is pave the way for them to then raise all of the other prices to match if the exchange rates (which are the entire reason the GBP price is low) continue to lurch around, which hurts everyone. I'm sure it will happen eventually, in any case. Square-Enix isn't exactly known for favouring European regions.
I suspect S-E maintains a balance themselves in GBP so they will have their own internal decisionmaking processes around what they want to do with it. Regions which use currencies which aren't viewed as useful by S-E are known to have additional hurdles (as our Australian players can confirm, being forced to use a currency that usually has close to zero relevance to their lives).

+1 to "screw them". Their position since 2013 has changed? Ok. I want full merge my services accounts (steam one) and not steam one (with all the rewards with "restarting FFXIV" and progress i had there). Oh, I've forgotten. They cant reactivate codes for service accounts, they cant merge them, they can nothing.
Anyway. Seems they at least saw us (or maybe not us, but some reviews, media and so on).
Anyway, It's a been awhile since that day, everyone already have seen everything and made their decisions.
If I read correctly, those players were already paying more than Steam players, so I'm not sure what the issue is here.
Although you put it more bluntly than I might have (then again maybe not), I agree. The truth here is that there was a pricing mistake on Steam for two countries and SE fixed that mistake. Sure, it was a negative impact for those players, but other players in those countries were not receiving the benefit of that mistake, so it's really only fair that Steam players pricing should be inline with the pricing of the game in BR/RU outside of Steam. People complaining need to remember you're now paying (or will be once the apology subsides) the same price as your countrymen who aren't on Steam. Is that really so outrageous? It's just damage control to get the people who are complaining and spamming the steam reviews with negative reviews soothed, but the damage is already done I guess... But throwing a fit when you lose your special priviledge and are treated the same as customers on other platforms inside your region and everyone else outside, marvelous...
