Yes. Anyone who leaves immediately upon seeing a dungeon they hate can join that fire. I personally hate Cutter's, but I don't leave because EXP is EXP...and the wait time/potential lockout is annoying.
Things come up while I'm playing, too. If the thing is going to cause me to be afk for 10+ minutes if I have time I will say "sorry something came up" or if I don't I will leave right away.
The emergency afks don't bother me. Quick brbs don't bother me either.
It's when someone goes afk for 3-5 minutes several times in a dungeon. I find that disrespectful and rude to the other 3 people in the party.
Oh, I have a mentor in progress story. I signed up for mentor roulette this morning at about 5:15 am my time, saw 29 min in progress, and of course said "RIP me" while bracing myself.
It was Shisui Palace after the second boss. The party was waiting for me after where the loot chest would have been, but the first pull after that little swimming inlet was dead so they must have wiped on it.
Everything was fine. At one point the bard went a little bit ahead of me and auto attacked but I got everything back quickly; they apologized like they'd gotten jumped on about auto attack pulling. No big deal as far as I'm concerned.
We finished off the boss and finally the healer says, "thank you for being better than the other tank!" Got two of their comms, apparently they were partied up.
A story of my own accidental pull last night, I went into the next room after the boss and I was trying to do three things at once, one of them ordering food, and face pulled. I hurried back to the tank and actually zoned to the previous room to dump aggro right away. After the three mobs were dead, the tank says "if you do that again I'll let you die."
Healer says "I think it was an accident..." and I agreed and explained it was an accident and I was quick to dump aggro. Then the healer continues, "...and I'm not letting anyone die"
I doted on her and she blushed at me. Commed her for that. <3
Okay so 2 days ago bf and I queued up for 50-60 roulette, me as red mage, him as tank. Got partied up with another Red Mage and a SCH for Sohm Al Hard.
We get to the first boss and half way through my bf tells me on vc he's going to die. I wasn't even paying attention to the party list, the dungeon isn't even that hard. But hey, he's at 10% HP and slowly dropping. I thought the healer maybe hadn't noticed, but immediately after that he begins casting Broil, and after that Broil again, and Broil once more. By this time I just went ahead and cast a few Vercures on him. I chose the wrong time to ask and died while typing 'Why won't you heal the tank at 10% HP?'. We seriously thought it might be a bot or something as he didn't reply or anything until well after the fight was over. We asked if he was a bot, and his friend said he wasn't and that he was in vc with him. I asked again why he wouldn't heal at 10% of HP, and the healer replied 'chill eos had it'. Really?
We continued through the dun, and noticed he insisted on letting Eos cure alone while he repeatedly cast Broil (Broil and not any DoTs or Bane, just Broil), my bf popped living dead twice in trash pulls. On the last boss I saw his Red mage friend running towards Eos for heals and facepalmed. Really? This dude is not only LEECHING off us for not healing and not dpsing correctly, and his friend consents this stupid behavior? Instead of letting him know his healing sucked? We didn't die because I cast vercure on my BF when he popped LD, not because Eos handled the healing. This wasn't Sastasha or some easy dun, this one at least required healing once in a while. And Eos is not going to heal over 50% of HP.
In the end I just said "You know, it's YOUR job to heal not just Eos'", and left.
While your statement makes sense, I don't see how it falls on me to teach a level 60 healer how to do his job, he didn't want advice and his friend was reinforcing his bad behavior. And honestly, it was my last duty of the day, I just wanted to get it done.
I don't like kicking when there's 2 and 2 people in a party. It's not fair because my friend and I could vote yes and easily get someone kicked. This would only make his friend be upset, and probably think we're rude, elitist or whatever, which we're not. Plus I'll probably never meet them again, sorry in advance for whoever's the next one to deal with this nonsense xD
I think we might be misunderstanding - I am saying don't do his job for him.
Obviously, whether or not you use Vercure is up to you, but you are absolutely not obligated to do so.
I would likely have just kicked them and dealt with the subsequent fallout from the friend, but I'm not a very nice person.
Sounds like a SCH who 1. Used a jump potion, and 2. Never ran any dungeons past 30 before.
Anyway, doing roulettes yesterday, I started off with RDM in Leveling roulette. Cutter's Cry, and the party comp was WAR, WHM, and MNK.
With that dungeon done, I went on to Level 50/60 Roulette, again in RDM. Sastasha HM, with the party comp being WAR, WHM, and MNK.
After that dungeon, now wondering what DF is up to, I switched to BLM for Expert Roulette. Ala Mhigo. Guess what the party- nope, it's WAR, WHM, and MNK, again. All in a row. And all different people, too.
A Warrior, a White Mage, and a Monk walk into Ala Mhigo, sounds like the start of a bad joke.Sounds like a SCH who 1. Used a jump potion, and 2. Never ran any dungeons past 30 before.

And I did understand your message, including the 'but the "healer" might hopefully learn a valuable lesson' part. I don't have time for that, if I can prevent a wipe I'll do it. I'm not speed running either, but letting us wipe just to prove a point seems childish. But it's personal preference, I respect that.
