Well you are right, in "not wanting to deal with something" from he general public.
But most things on TV are censored for the parents, rather than because the general public doesn't want "insert blood cursing etc" in their movies.

The only reason I don't like those things in movies personally, isn't because of what blood is, but because the minds of most creators who put these things in moves generally suck at storytelling, and put up bewbs and blood, to advertise.

But I equally find the idea of "I don't want to hear your opinion, or hear your side of the story" equally damaging to our society.

Saying you don;t want to see some fat guy naked walking down the street, might be the truth for most people, but (1) you wouldn't care at all, if it was the normal thing to see, and (2) it's damaging to said persons self-esteem.
I'm sure everyone is ok with good looking people naked, and not ok with "not good looking" people. (Based on their opinion of the 2.)

The ONLY reason I would use censorship, is if it is harmful, and or can't be understood yet, until previous steps were taught. (AKA basic math before algebra.)
