I understand that, however, play style mechanics within a job are almost completely irrelevant. Of course we want however the new tank plays to be fun, but the end result will always be: X buttons to press as CDs, some combo rotation, some OGCDs, and perhaps a mechanic that mixes these things up with a gauge.
Fact is, we got two magic based tanks that I think they should keep working on strengthening the magic part of their identities rather than bring a 3rd into it. Like I mentioned before, this could be our last new tank job ever, if not at least for the next 4+ years.
Make it something that truly makes all tanks (and players) want to play it. You may think BLU is this job, but I for one don't, and it would possibly be the first tank job in any FF MMO that I choose not to level.
BLU just seems more of a niche job that some people love.
My signature pretty much says what I want, but it's a similar idea to this Gunlancer people are talking about. I'd rather have a massive cannon though rather than a shooting lance + shield. Would be pretty awesome and fitting in with a Garlean theme too. I think it has the kind of mass appeal too that we should look for in our new tank too.
Of course, feel free to disagree, because I won't change my stance on BLU. It simply seems boring to me. Equally boring as the idea of a RDM tank. I think BLU would be better suited to being a new DPS job.
