Temple of the Fist run, we get a tank who doesn't wait for the healer to cast protect, immediately cast Spring and big pulls, I feel the heaers blood boiling, and so does the RDM with us, so we just let him die.

Healer tells him to wait for Protect and the party next time, the tank immediately begins to curse us out and blame the healer for being "shit".

The rest of the run was just him dashing into everything, almost never leaving AOEs, and overall being near death to the point that even the RDM has to be on healing duty which I, as a god damn MCH has to DPS.

The tank was booted before the last boss.

I've just started leveling my Tanks again since pre HW (where stance dancing wasn't a thing) and, yup, it's literally a secondary concern once you've initially got hold of them.

I was doing the HW dungeon inside the cathedral where you get mobs bum rushing you as soon as you enter certain areas. I did my usual Sheild Oath > Flash > Cycle Emnity combo from 2.0 and was surprised when I got back to the initial enemy that his aggro bars were still not showing.

The past couple of days have been quite the learning experience

It just makes more work for the tank to maintain aggro. I get it that building enmity is easier in 4.0 but that just seems like more potential for disaster. /Shrug

It's slightly annoying but you can just click it off as the last mob dies (I play PS4 so no excuses for it being fiddly.) I'll normally let it go, try get the AST to go Noct on trash and just shield me or tell the WHM not to worry they have a million ways to emergency heal and if I die then I didn't pop hallowed quick enough.

If all else fails I'll just pull smaller so they're not twitching their butts so much.

But in the end I'd rather the healer be comfortable and let me pull bigger than be a douchebag because they're not being mechanically optimal in dungeon content.

I got to feel like a scrub in Dzemael Darkhold the other day while doing levelling roulette on PLD.

A group of those skeleton warriors got proximity pulled by the healer by mistake. I immediately hit Flash and the game registered the ability hit all three of them. They proceeded to cheerfully ignore the fact that I had top threat, and all ran over to instagib the poor healer before turning to me.

I know that could hardly be considered my fault, but damn if I didn't feel like a failure just the same. I'd have used Cover if I had known they were going to wait a couple seconds before obeying aggro mechanics.

    ^ this

It's not so much about maintaining aggro it is the problem of as I run in to pull 3 mobs my Tomahawk only hits one of them and if the healer put regen on me just before I pulled then the two other mobs run right past me to the healer since my GCD is going and then I have to chase them to overpower. Overpower also needs to be aimed so if I don't have beast gauge to use Steel Cyclone then you are making my job harder for no reason especially since those prepull regen ticks literally just did overhealing.

Just wait for the tank to AoE the hate on all the mobs first.

This though....that was seriously disgusting how they treated you over it. No reason to treat you like that at all over something simple like that. Yeah, I think you shouldn't cast it prepull but I would never do this to a healer that did. I would simply ask them to please not do it.

I was in The Temple of the Fist. I'm on scholar. The tank is doing small pulls the entire dungeon, which is fine- more time to dps for me! One pull though I notice the tank's doing nothing but clemency while he's at ~75% health, completely wasting my excognition and causing it to fall off.

I ask him to not to use clemency, and he's like "yeah sure"

DPS-A then says, "Excogitation is a net its ok hes trying to help" which, it's a shield more than anything, but okay. "is that a scholar thing? usually heals want to deeps" I've been dpsing this whole time, of course I do. "Dps then healer"

At this point, I think he might be blind. DPS-B reveals he's a healer, and says "Personally id rather him stay above without hitting excogitation". Personally I'd rather have him do actual damage and let excognition do its thing. "Hes a tank" Okay?

DPS-B then says, "If hes healing it means youre doing sub par". Keep in mind there were 0 deaths the entire dungeon, before and after this exchange. The tank was healing himself at ~75%, which is not low at all. Also, I totally clutch healed them a couple of times because they screwed up mechanics. /flex

tl;dr Two dps start criticizing my healing when I was being a bamf.

The queue popped immediately (I was with a healer friend). We got in to the last boss fight and as you might have guessed, the new guy don't skip the cutscenes. I mean that's fine, but then apparently the tanks wanted to wait for the new guy. I asked them kindly to pull without the new guy, he refused. Okay, by this time I was praying that I would have enough time. OH BOY, cutscenes are very long in that dungeon. I basically had 5-10 minutes left when we reached ultima thanks to all the waiting. If the tanks refused to pull, I would pull it. Normal tanks would try to grab the agro, but these guys just run around and even ask the others to just dodge and run around with them without doing anything. Oh boy, it's on. Me and my friend basically 2-manned the Ultima first phase and guess what? I got kicked soon after that. Maybe it was my fault? But I was desperate to finish it T^T.
    It was completely your fault.

This group, contrary to what normally happens in this dungeon, were actually prioritizing the experience of the new player and allowing them to experience it as the devs intended.

I've seen way too many stories of people having the 2.0 climax ruined by inconsiderate players to have any sympathy for you being inconsiderate to that group.

If you can't allot the time necessary for a possible full run of a dungeon, don't queue for it in the first place.

Ran expert yesterday to see the changes in DRK. And holy crap, Quistis restoring MP might just be the best thing for big pulls. It was Temple of the Fist. The pull after the second boss. Threw up TBN and my mana was almost gone, used DA+Quistis and it was topped off. Lightbulb went off and I popped TBN everytime it was available and spammed Quistis. With Salted Earth and Dark Drive going at the same time, my bloodiness was feeling faster than I knew what to do with it.

Later that evening, I ran O1 ten times for a belt. Won with a 34. My second highest roll. The only other time I rolled higher than 30 was a 76 and the only other person who rolled, rolled a 98. I swear Omega and RNG teamed up to keep me in there.

As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
