No thanks. I would be a fan of an NPC that only sells cosmetic/special items to pre-2.0 characters though. Similar to the Collector's Edition Shop Bioware is putting into TOR, only CE buyers get access to it, and it'll only be fluff items.

Also, can you imagine how totally out of control the FF online Elitist nature would get if they did a cash shop for items that were more than cosmetic?

I think it would be interesting. I know a few MMO's that have them. Usually you can buy items that are rare and not obtainable outside of the cash shop. I personally want to have Ifrit and Shiva mounts in the cash shop.

I'd even contemplate stopping playing if they did implement it to save myself the eyesore and hurt of watching the game spiral down the plug hole as it filled with idiots paying $3 for a skull mask to look "kewl". I'll put a gun to me lalafell head and shout goodbye cruel eaorzea if it got implemented.

I would like a cash shop that lets me buy a freaking poster larger than 50x70cm for my wall. Seriously. All I get is a crappy tiny poster framed? What if I wanted something bigger? Why is it so hard to believe that someone wouldn't want a bigger poster than some tiny piece of crap? What if i wanted a fabric one too? I want paraphernalia, without having to resort to crappy ebay knockoffs.

Yes, WoW has one. I was just suggesting a cash shop because most MMO's have one.
