Not df, really pf, but did a Thordan farm as RDM. The farmers decided solo heal...but the healer died to like every mechanic, so I guess I was the solo heal *shrug*

Kept the tanks and mh healed best as I could and ran rez duty. Just glad I got my not blinding rapier of the heavens and blew that popsicle stand.

My expectations for Palace of the Dead are always very, very low...but I recently had a pretty spectacularly bad 51-60.

To give some background, the group was two red mages, a gladiator and a machinist. Things were going relatively fine until around floor 57, when the MCH kept pulling mobs in spite of the fact that someone had sprung an Impeding Trap that hit the rest of the party. We sort of just watched them kite the mobs around a pillar until their eventual death. After the silence and pacify wore off, we killed the mobs and I used a phoenix down on the MCH. The MCH then asks why no one tried to get anything off of them. The gladiator proceeds to talk about how he isn't tanking because "the red mages aren't healing," and goes on for a good five minutes about Vercure and how we should be healing.

So, the rub about the Vercure thing is A) we had been using it, B) we obviously couldn't use it when the MCH died (neither of us had Echo Drops), and C) the fact that Palace of the Dead doesn't actually REQUIRE healing.

After this was explained to the gladiator at length, he continued to go on about how bad we were and how "that's what you get with PUBS." As an aside, I've never been a DOTA person, so I had no idea what that meant.

I had decided to stop engaging the GLD pretty early on, and initiated a vote kick. That successfully passed, and we went on our way to floor 60. I think another interesting note is that while the MCH was actually the one who died, they didn't really have any complaints beyond the initial confusion surrounding their death.

Just got out of the worst WoD.

Not only was DPS horrendously slow (took 10 minutes to kill second boss), but anything that required any mechanics would kill 90% of the raid. One of the tanks insisted on tanking Angry Mango as far against the wall as possible, blocking out the white color so people would die to the color swap mechanic. When my alliance's tank tried to take aggro to move him back to center, it ended up being an aggro battle between the three tanks, leaving the adds to run around and murder the DPS who didn't die to Doom (no one would look away) or color swap. We wiped twice on this boss.

Second boss had no wipes, but it took forever.

Cerberus was undoubtly awful. First time, myself and a samurai went into the stomach and did our best to kill the stomach, but to no avail. When someone told the rest of the DPS to get in the stomach, about 10 of them went and stood in the Slabber with no mini on. Again, just me and a samurai inside but this time we had a tank? help us, so we pushed through.

For the last boss, no one would stand in the meteors. Half the DPS were ignoring the clouds and we wiped once because of it. People with the homing laser would run into the melee/tank pile and get everyone killed. Someone with a mentor crown kept trying to stack the homing laser with me, forcing me to pop sprint.

Best part though, we only had ONE person get the achievement for completion. 23 people in the raid had ALREADY DONE IT. Does jump potion autocomplete raid achievements or something? jfc.

Novice Network

Well you're on Balmung so... /jk

The Novice Network on Adamantoise is great. There's a bunch of regular mentors in there who on occasion get off topic, but we always stop what we are rambling about to help anyone who has questions. Not all mentors are bad, and I personally try to live up to the PvE Crown I wear. But yeah, a lot of mentors I run into are pretty garbage with mechanics.

For the last boss, no one would stand in the meteors.

I just want to point out that this has always been an issue with WoD. I've seen I don't know how many people who had Macros specifically for meteors. My thought is always this when going into WoD "everyone else is trash so I have to do all the work", that way I'll know at least 1 person is doing something of worth.

Last day to get weekly runs in, so I can't really say I'm not part of the problem, but I decided to finally finish my Omega runs tonight. O2 and O4 were alright, but O3 was some kind of mess. One healer was spamming Stone until the end of days, not even doing mechanics, and the other, I swear, was literally diving head first into the AoEs and getting hit by Ribbit. We got through it, somehow (our pally tank was aces), but woof.

Lol so I decide to do level 50/60 roulette, levelling my DRK and I get into the lost city of amdapor normal mode and was like cool, nice quick and easy. I do the first big pull, pulling all the adds just before the fungus colony....the DPS was so eye wateringly low...adds were dying extremely slowly..I look over and see that the dragoon and bard is doing single target attacks. At that point I run out of CDs and nothing has died yet, all these enemies beating off all over me and no CDs?? haha poor healer. I tell them 'AOE?' and they begin to do it, every pull after that they weirdly switch between single target and things were dying ultra slowly too..anyway we get to that fungusy bridge taht gives you the pollen debuff and there's those two gadfly adds with the fungus colony down below, so I pull them all only to find out later when I realise that the team was dying...i had aggro on everything ...oh no atleast i thought i did. The dragoon ran off and opned up a chest that turned into a mimic, esentially pulling for me which i have no problem with (i'm not one of those you pull you tank assholes) but if you're going to bring the mob over or kill it yourself quickly (he didn't his dps was so horrendously low, he got rekt by 1 mob), anyway, the chest kills him and chews up the healer and we wipe. i get back up and this shitshow went down lol





I couldn't believe it....I immediately looked them up on lodestone and surprise surprise, first of all, that guy was lying, like i knew he was, a ilevel 315 tank saying he cleared everything whilst telling me that i shouldn't need to use CDs during big pulls? and we wiped twice, the first time because someone opened a chest and the second time because the healer couldn't manage a reasonable pull ( WITH COOLDOWNS!) that even I healed through when my terrible tank friend was tanking and I'm no excellent healer. anyway, yeah they were all in the same FC the lowest level was the mouthy, Bullshitting bard level 54 who had a PLD at level 70, ast level 64 and drg level 60. I told my raid buddy on mateus and he knew them and confirmed that the bard (who told me not to use CDs and had a pld level 70) lacked knowledge of his class so bad that he was laughed at for having skillspeed and parry melds on his gear.

What scares me is if I was a gullible sprout, this clueless idiot would of told me that and I would of believed it, putting more bad tanks into the system. I'm happy i got kicked lol.

edit - I like how the DPS is saying, 'TANK DONT USE YOUR CDS' because yeah they're totally the ones that have to pick up the slack if i dont, especially with how utterly horrendous the dps was. F off mate. I think this is one of the few times i'd ever say this..... 'Don't tell me how to play my class, you don't pay my sub!' lol

was tanking a 50/60 roulette and got the midgardsomnr dungeon. was okay till the end then, for whatever reason the whitemage REALLY REALLY wanted to stand on me for all the dragon cleaves. When i mentioned that standing in front of me is causing him to die they all did rude emotes and abandoned duty. It was very odd lol.

Royal Menagerie. The Paladin didn't use Passage of Arms during the ult, and had sword stance on, saying that she was the off tank. (sigh)

Had the sweetest SCH sprout in the vault yesterday. Was very receptive to feedback, listened to boss strats and somehow managed to keep everyone alive during claribert with an i110 weapon, bless . I was running as a PLD and my clemency hit for 2.5k ish while his physics hit for 1.5k ish. I have no idea what sorcery he pulled to not let a single person drop there but dam, at the end he got my com and I told him where he can buy some lvl appropriate gear from merchants, he thanked me and we went on our way. Then I remembered what cutscene he was about to watch, god speed lil SCH, god speed .

Well of course Clemency is going to heal more than Physick/Cure, it's 1200 potency vs 400.

If we wipe three times to the first boss of Gubal Library, I'm going to explain mechanics. If only one person identifies themselves as new, I'm still going to explain mechs for everyone, and not assume anything.

One of the DPS in my run got kind of offended by that, I guess. She said, during the last boss, that "some people do know their job." I didn't say much beyond "steer through [the gale cuts]" or explain mechs for the boss beforehand. Our newbie was the SCH, but hey.

People died to every boss in our thirty-minute run, so I feel pretty justified. And I'd rather over-explain than not at all!
