I didn't think Lakshmi's voice fit the character either. Especially during the fight, her voice sounds like an older woman, and one who smokes considerably--so horse! I'm not saying that the voice acting was bad, just an odd casting choice.

Also, what's with that pose she does just before the fight? It doesn't go at all with the stern voice.
