That's right, you can still do hunts yo get cluster easily so.
There's nothing to complain about.

Not true actually I always tank for my bf and 2 fc members everyday and i still get the bonus. It sounds like adding to the carrot for queueing as a tank (or healer if tanks aplenty swarm in and change venturer in need to healer).
Only take 2 friends, and DF that 4th person. That is enough to keep the bonus applied. It is only fully premade parties (as in, 4 people in a party together queueing for levelling roulette as an example) that it nullifies the adventurer in need bonus.
Personally I think this adjustment is ridiculous, but then, I felt the Adventurer In Need carrot was pointless to begin with.
The fact of the matter is that SE is simply taking the lazy way out with maneuvers like this. They f*cked up the DD / Tank / Healer estimated ratios before 2.0 (should've designed around 5-6 person parties), and declined to revisit the issue prior to Heavensward when it would have been feasible to change course. Then they f*cked up with Stormblood by releasing SAM and RDM with no corresponding tank or healer jobs. Then they f*cked up again with the 4.0 combat changes, screwing up how tanks and healers feel and thereby driving people away.
So I ask: is it better for SE to react to these f*ck-ups on their part by essentially bribing people to play a job that many don't really want to play in the first place, or is it better for them to, y'know, stop f*cking up?
I'm in the latter camp, personally. I'm sick and tired of SE using over-sized carrots to cover for their mistakes. They do it with content that's rough around the edges, they do it with jobs, they do it with server transfer policies - and I'm just sick of it. They need to start addressing the core issues, rather than bribing people.

The adventurer in need bonus isn't given if you a premade party.
It's written in the leveling roueltte description.
What you get is the bonus from the roulette itself.
Am I the only one expecting a rash of bad tanks in the DF? hehe
Solo in an mmo.... does not compute I hope the NPC system sucks its a game for playing with others not with bots... if you want to play solo play a single player game... jeeez.Interesting... lol
I main Healer and Tank... but ... i'm really just worn out on dungeons.
Though when they release the NPC system in 4.1 i may start running lots of them solo.
I do really rather enjoy them, just hate the speed run culture.
I'd rather play alone than get caught up in that crap.
And i've got so much gil anyways *shrug*

Translation: Turns out what we said about duty finder not being bloated with DPS was wrong, here's some incentives please play tanks and healer.
Many people play MMOs as if they were, to some extent, co-op single-player titles. I don't find anything wrong with that, personally. I do think the old-school style of MMO that encouraged community-forming was better, but FFXIV and other modern titles simply aren't suited for it. They're too fast-paced (limiting typing options), too convenient (things like the Duty Finder shred any sense of community within a given world), too shallow in terms of content (ensuring a more transient playerbase), etc. As a result, many people don't feel inclined to socialize all that much.

Yeah if you're capped on your tanks it's probably better to just do hunts or something, or simply farm for gil to buy the grade 6s you need.
However, since I was planning on leveling DRK starting today anyway... hey I aint gonna turn down free materia.
If someone wins an argument, they have learned nothing.
FOR DOCKHAND!
