    Im a player since 2015, only found out a year later that there was a forum, which was cool. I was hoping for a better response and issue fixing from this site alone because when you chat to support... its like chatting to a buddy, though they can never give you clear answers and think that is whats frustrates us the most.

    Like for example:
    Bought a subscription last weekend sunday and my connection is bad, I literally have to download the game is about 2 weeks because of Patch download issue. I downloaded Destiny on my new console in 4 days (yes the connection is slow) So I tried from that sunday wednesday to download. I probably downloaded 10gig in total, but it never took so each time It lost connection I had to start at the beginning.
    Frustration of NOTE. So got to chatting with an agent and asked if there was anything they could do for me and they said, sure they will help with the settings and send it to my email. I asked them if it was something to do with the DNS settings and I basically got a virtual shrug as if to say 'Don't worry, it will work' I thought. Got the settings and to my amazement it was something I have already told them I have changed, since its a brand new console, that was the first thing i done, so I don't lose connection while downloading.

    Now, issue is this... do they pay these technicians? because I would rather google the issue with the CONSOLE. For some reason this specific game seems to have endless issues with the PS4 and PC. Most people will just give up because, like me, we dont have money to waste on a subscription they cannot pause/refund/extend.

    I really want to play this game, like so many on and off this forum. It's just really lowers the value if their business systems and structures are not in place, unless we all learn japanese and chinese and then just enjoy the games without much of a hassle. This is my last option though, i have all the material to get into a 3rd and 4 th language.... if you guys are keen we can make that a thing as well.

    -Frustrated and really doubtful SE fan.

    Ironic you mentioned people who don't read and are ignorant, since you obviously haven't read any of the complaints. It's nothing to do with our bad internet connection, or that we are playing on a PS4. SQEX have mass-blocked a ton of IP addresses for European players using NA servers to combat the DDoS attacks and we've all been casualties of that cull. Our characters are literally STUCK in a location unable to sprint, teleport, or even get on a mount FFS. And yes I DO have the technical know-how to get a VPN to get a new IP address but quite frankly I shouldn't HAVE to, and the lack of an official response for SQEX is just adding fuel to the frustration. So please READ before you make a pompous comment about how everything fine for you and how other players should just suck it up and become PC players. Gosh you must be an a$$hole in the game when you had to queue up for the instances at Stormblood release.

    No kidding I play with friends from Japan and Mexico who also don't complain. I understand the issue and know not everyone is tech savvy. There are options that is all.

    DDOS attacks are a common thing and yes I am aware of them. That serves for the queue wait times and server overload as I had mention. Honestly their answers make sense and people don't want to accept them is their choice. You have every right to your perspective and being I work with servers and code I complete understand that not many people are willing to accept the back end of things. Think about the difference of a gaming console to any PC, it's a huge difference, and PS4 users need to go through Sony for updates so it doesn't take a genius to understand there is a third party. Why do you think PS3 is no longer supported? Why do you think SE recommends using a 64 bit operating system rather than a 32bit? All I'm saying is that there are options out there and people don't want to understand what the announcements or explanations that are giving as reality. No one is special, everyone pays a subscription, and everyone deals with it so point in blaming a company that is giving feed back and people still complain. Been here since v1.0 even tested and this is common for pretty much any online game expansion.

    The issues have nothing to do with server congestion, which, in and of itself, the congestion is just limited to a few worlds (which were listed on the follow-up regarding simultaneous logout measures). This problem is far more widespread, and while it seems to be affecting the majority of non-NA players on NA data centers, I live in the States and have issues with terrible lag and disconnects while in duties, yet I am perfectly fine in the overworld--pointing to an issue with the instance servers. And why is it taking so long to stabilize the servers? Even after Balmung crashed Aether during Heavensward Early Access, they got the servers (the old servers) back up and running AND STABLE within hours. DDoS can be used as a reason, but only to an extent. SE may be a company, and maybe they are providing what limited news and feedback they have been giving on the issues occurring right now, but they still have a responsibility to satisfy their paying customers.

    Personally, I've had more connectivity and lag issues since the NA data center upgrades. Which is disheartening, because I thought with better servers, things would at least run a little smoother.

    The fact that some users being affected by this are playing on PS4 is completely unrelated to the issue. Some players play on PC and are still being affected. PS4 and PC are different hardware obviously, and some PCs may be able to handle better loads than a PS4, but pushing a pro-PC agenda is not the solution to this problem.

Got to the root on peak hours was a normal accordance do to the congestion's. Off peak was more do to system resources on their system doing updates and daily scans on system. I travel to Europe, Brazil, Japan, Mexico on a regular bases for work. Currently in Mexico and yet to experience a D/C. So if people want to continue believing it's all SE, than on some aspects or occasions I can see that. But after a launch of updates and rule out possibilities it's just being selfish. Once people get things done servers stabilize again. New update will continue to happen. A few days later same thing and circles around. So yes people are being upset to normal things and want to feel special, ignore articles and reason, and still think it works from one day to another. Would b enice...wake up.

    All i know is that I've not had a single problem with playing FF14 on PS3->PS4 for the entire duration of its existence since the initial launch, and now all of a sudden i'm having the same issues as many other EU residents playing on NA servers and getting constantly disconnected all of a sudden. I'm not entirely sure what the problem here IS, but what i can tell you it ISN'T is the fact i'm playing on a PS4, the fact there's never been any prior issues, and suddenly everyone is having issues all at the same time leads me to believe it's a problem over at Square enix or with Sony itself rather than the ability of a playstation console.

    Not being funny Manuel but Brazil, Japan and Mexico aren't part of Europe, and if you're in Mexico NOW, then you're not in EUROPE during the time EUROPE players are having issues.
