I mean....from what I understand of the ability I'd barely consider it a buff to write home about. It's not increasing their DPS output, just very slightly increasing their own survivability - the utility remains pretty much the same.
Exactly this. It's not really a buff to a BRD's DPS. It's a buff to their utility, and a small one at that. We still don't get the benefit of the 2% crit bonus our songs give, but honestly Troubadour should have been of the design to buff all party members and the bard who casts it from the get-go. It's like: "Here, party! Increased physical damage resistance for all of you! And let me Battle Voice it as well to augment the effects! Now you have more protection! Well, except for me, so healers please give me some love! ;_;" I can live with the 2% crit buff not applying to the bard singing the song; it's a fair trade-off for our songs not penalizing our damage, but Troubadour initially having no effect on the bard casting it was a dumb idea.
I agree MCH needs attention desperately, and hopefully that will come with 4.05 when more adjustments are released.
