Samurai's single target beats Monk and Ninja's single target assuming equal skill, with Monk and Ninja being about equal. Samurai's AOE is also significantly stronger in smaller and Medium sized packs of Mobs, as most of its AOE actions scale down with more targets. Monk has great AOE that isn't subject to dropoff, so there's likely a point where it exceeds Samurai in AOE if a pull is massive enough, it's other main benefit is how sustainable it's AOE rotation is, as Monk has two TP recovery skills allowing for Almost indefinite Rockbreaker usage compared to Samurai which runs dry fairly quickly in my own experience.

I don't know enough about Ninja AOE to say more than "it has a frog now".

Ninja AOE isn't terrible. you can rip things 2 shreds very quickly with death blossom double katon with kassastsu and the hellfrog medium.

Doton I tend not to use because either A. the tank is moving the mobs around far to much. or B. things are dead before doton hits full damage. though if you wanted to you could tcj fuma katon doton and then kassatsu another katon

the other advantage is none of a ninjas aoes scale down on larger pulls unlike samurias.
