It's true, the stuff people are saying, it's like a digital migrant panic. Small town Mateus residents complaining that they don't recognize their server anymore with all these new faces, that previously overpaid crafters and gatherers can't rake in as much cash because the migrants are taking their jobs and housing. Stories that all these Balmung refugees have a weird culture centred around ERP and going to cyber-rape your nekomimi waifu...

It'd be funny if people weren't taking it so seriously and being genuinely hostile.

I just moved to Mateus from Balmung about a week ago and I've seen over 50 Wards come and go within that time, all for 1.3m to 3m.

Guess we'll see. They'd need to compensate people lucky enough to have more than one house, but even then, I don't think that'll solve the issue too much. It'd also be great if we could finally add our characters to our friend's list for things like mail and housing tenants. Or SE could just make all characters on an account share the same house by default.

The problem fundamentally lies with Square, not the homeowners. The notion of artificial scarcity in a game's housing system is bizarre - take for example the people in Goblet 12, if they surrendered all their surplus homes, that'd house another dozen people... a dozen, on a server of thousands.

The vast majority of those people harassing people like the Balmung transfers or Seraph for buying up the houses, still wouldn't get a house even if Square came and took them away from them. The only way a busy server is going to get houses for everyone, is to adopt more of a Wildstar-esque model, where everyone has a house, and it's not dependent upon actual, physical locations.

Exactly. & SE is too proud to switch to instanced housing now. Even if they did, people would complain that they don't have the "neighborly" feel anymore. SE needs to cut the crap, make it instanced. People will eventually stop complaining and everyone will be able to own a home at their own pace.

I can see were you're coming from, but what about FC's? All of the FC's that could be using those houses for airships and workshops certainly number more than a dozen people. I always thought that the wards should've been FC only and instanced housing should've been made available to everyone that wanted a personal house. That way, Yoshi can have his "Community" while we actually get the functionality of the housing system.

They should punish instead of rewarded. They took a way the cchanceof another peeaon to get an empty plot.

The right move would be for SE make the house accessable to all characters from that one said account. It is sad to say but SE still needs to improve to get as good as some F2P MMO which van provide houses for every single character.
