People don't know how to take criticism anymore, and bad play is rewarded with with a coddling mentality. Yes, this is a casual game for the most part - that doesn't mean people need to walk on eggshells in fear of getting reported for pointing out things. This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.
Pretty much this.
But I know that I am not the same as everyone. There are plenty of people who would rage about it, and that is putting it mildly.

The people who rushed to 70 and to finish MSQ have already left all the areas desolate. Big boss FATEs can no longer be done on smaller servers(probably on big servers too). If a group of people didn't play for a week then the elitists would step in and tell them how much of scrubs they were just cause they didn't rush content like them.

Well technically I volunteered about three months prior to Stormblood launch. Actually wasn't that bad of a break, which is why I know that one week wouldn't be so bad except for the most hardened of addicts.
Oddly enough, not trolling. At least not this time, especially after thinking about what PR damage has been done and how far should the company go to more adequately put those fires out.
