This thread has gone on too long. The OP started this topic under false pretenses, then proceeded to ignore all relevant information in lieu of raving about his other threads' of a similar nature.

Ifrit is not dangerous to the community. The content being released is great. Thank you SE for supplying us with something at least while dealing with serious limitations. I know it must be hard to keep up with v1 without anything in the way of funding, while having a large number of your dev team entirely focused on another aspect of the project, v2.0.

This thread needs locked, as it's no longer relevant to the topic the OP started. (Which is a moot point, anyhow.)

Actually, the inordinate amount of divisive talk that has taken place in this thread from different perspectives, as well as individuals, perfectly illustrates just how dangerous "hardcore" content can be to a community's atmosphere and dialogue. You would have to be blind and deaf to not see that.

That, too! Let's not forget how a lot of these forumites like to argue for their side of the argument without realizing that they're not even trying to understand the situation in its entirety, nor even appreciating the context of the argument. It's like...

Person A: "I want to have more choices."

Person B: "No, you can not has choices!"

Person A: "Why not?"

Person B: "Because I don't want it!"

Person A: "Yeah, why don't you want it?"

Person B: "Because I don't want it changed!"

Person A: "Isn't change supposed to be for the better? Having three choices, instead of one?"

Person B: "No change! No. Nein. Non. Nyet."

Person A: "Are you even gonna try to look at it from my perspective?"

Person B: "No."

It's like they aren't even trying to formulate a full and cohesive argument that provides a solution acceptable to both sides while at the same time failing to exercise one of the most important skills in a discussion and debate: Empathy. While Person A (mostly me in this thread) has offered multiple variations of the same solution that does not "change" what Person B wants to keep, while still adding other options to that content, I still get the same kinds of responses that are indicative of a closed-minded approach to problem-solving.

Note: "Empathy" is not the same as "Sympathy". Sympathizing means you're feelin' f*ckin' sorry for the other dude. Empathizing means you have the skills to understand - completely and within the intended context - what the other person is saying.

That's a wall of text? Holy cow, I guess this forum post I've been drafting up to close out this thread with is ten times too much.

All tongue-in-cheek jibes aside, a GIF showing Worf facepalming doesn't really make it easily ignored to me... it kinda illustrated how I felt about the majority of responses in this and other threads.

I must be blind.

All I see is a person who insists content is too hard without having taken a single step to try and find information on the strategy or level a SINGLE other job than the one he intends on blindly playing in a game that is built on the premise of leveling multiple jobs to succeed.

Actually, the people in this thread that cant be bothered to take a few minutes to look up a strategy before they throw their faces at something then complain its too hard;.

This is all I really got from it as well, to be honest.

It's not a hard fight by any means. You just can't face roll through the content. You can't stand in one place and spam weaponskills whenever you feel like it. It takes actual strategy and timing. That's all the fight is about. It's not a DPS race, it's about reading his tempo and using it to your advantage in planning weaponskills. He has a set pace at which he uses abilities, and you can time your animation lock to occur after he uses them.

Outside of that, it's simply about moving when you need too. Nothing more, nothing less. Sure, certain classes might be favored for the encounter, but that doesn't mean it's the only way of defeating him. People just tend to go with what works, it's human nature. Some want to just do it as easily as possible, others might like a challenge.

Plus, I see more and more casual groups clearing him each day. Practice makes perfect. Instead of complaining that it's too hard, one could be practicing the fight more.

Long story short, the fight doesn't need to be changed. The server latency issues? Sure, that'd help, but that's about it. Even then it's something that can be worked around with a little practice.
